Little Red Light Added to Gen 1 Gauge Cluster... Not sure why?

Bought my V-Max in August. I noticed that the previous owner did two little electrical mods. The first was simple to figure out. A bypass toggle switch was added on the side of the bike to manually start the cooling fan. Not sure why since the bike runs cool and the temp sensor does engage the fan at about 3/4 on the gauge. The other mod is a mystery. See pic. Before I start digging in and pulling the bike apart to follow wires, I was wondering if this could be some sort of common electrical mod others may have seen before?

Could be. New to the bike so I hadn’t yet looked down when it kicks in. Next ride I’ll check the light at 6k rpm. Thanks.

By George I think you got it @cdgawatersports , given that my down pipes sound like a gatling gun while warming up (internal separation I assume). Thanks to all, I have a few leads to follow now.
