Hey Jerry when i bought my SHAD bags i thought they coming with the brackets but then i realize they sold them separate and i couldn't wait anotherHey Jim I have a set of Shad bags here that I never got around to designing a GEN2 mounting. Can you give me some pics & input what you did to mount the bags. Would you do some things different?
This has been such an issue for everyone that I'd like to make a "Kit" available for everyone on here. I have some great contacts and friends in the sheet metal & CNC business that I have worked with for 20 years to work with to make parts. And, spent a good chunk of my life doing designs and mechanical drawings.
month for them to arrive to Australia so i made some temporary brackets to mount my saddles up for my trip , they very simple to make and you said you have connections in the CNC industry to make probably better looking design, also i want to mention i made them compatible to accommodate my top box which i carry my reserve fuel tank but also im able to use my saddles without the top box , so when i eliminate the top box i made some tube spacers to replace the gap from the top box brackets . They bolt on three points , two points on the top where the sissy bar mounts and one point bolts on the passenger foot rest , if you see the photo where the third point attach i removed the peg pin and replaced with a longer bolt and lock nut, if you need more info im happy to share with you cheers.
