I am going to install a bar end mirror and was wondering how to take off the stock chrome bar ends? Do I just twist these off? I don't want to mangle anything? Thanks all :punk:

Also, i got this from a 2003 FJR1300 spec sheet.

Are the plugs #15 in the first and #16 in the second that will work on Mr. Max?

Thanks...

If you want some nice bar ends check out CRG

Here are some knock-offs of CRG mirrors

For high end mirrors that will make you want to bust a nut check here

I am still using the stock mirrors as I like to see behind me. I talked to some V-max riders while at Daytona that had the knock-offs and they stated they are decent quality.

I am not sure if the FJR plugs will work (they should), but a good hardware store like Ace hardware should have plastic plugs that would work.

FastDunn the plastic chrome caps just pull off, but I destroyed mine trying to remove them.

vmaxman99 confirmed those plugs are the one i outlined before...

thanks heretic... i'm looking into bar ends that will fit on my stock grips (that have like 3/4" of the bar showing at the end for the stock end caps...

any thoughts?

bar-end weights typically won't work with most mirrors eh? Or are you talking about the type of bar end mirrors that clamp on the bar instead of insert into the end of the bar?

You can always go cheap and get a bar for a bicycle that velcros on. But I would only use it on the left side.

i can't imagine that would stay on at 100+ mph...

why only the left tho?

They velcro onto the grip so the right would twist and not be usable as you opened the throttle. I think the one we have temporarily on an FZR we are building will stay on just fine. I will give it a try tonight.

an good call but i would think you would strap it to the bar-end on each which doesn't move....

ah ok i follow. those are much better than the ones i was looking at. Does only having one mirror kill your visibility?

I can't imagine that much, the stock mirrors suck

ALSO!

I especially like the pink streamers on that page. think they'd look good on my brake and clutch levers?

Those look very familiar........................I got it!!
"BUBBLES" the dancing girl at the "Hungry Eye" in Syracuse used to wear some just like that!!

I recommend you don't go near them without AT LEAST Level III protective gear!!! :rofl_200: :rofl_200: :rofl_200:

The silver part goes in the bar end I have a set of them in chrome.
I really like them. Imo there pretty good mirrors. no shake to them even at 135. At least mine

Thanks vmaxfast.

Yours are more rectangular tho, same company?

Sucks b/c i have the stock bar ends on, which shows like 3/4" of bar and i just glued down my left grip so i'd either have to get a new grip(s), cut off that part of the bar or deal with the 3/4" gap eh?
