Good suggestions everyone! Thanks! After doing all that work on the bike I got it all back together and she flat out refused to even sputter. Just cranked and cranked and cranked. Pulled the plugs and the were dry as a bone, even with full choke and pinned throttle... well that ain't right! I didn't mess up the carbs that much! My battery was getting weak and wasn't spinning it fast enough to create good vacuum through the carbs.
So, i figured I'd put it on the trickle and let it go for a couple days to think about its choices. Came back last night, dripped a little fuel down into the carbs, full choke, pinned throttle, and held that starter for about 3 secs. First nothing then started to sputter, came to life finally with a cloud of smoke. I guess the old girl didn't like all those chemicals! Probably doesn't help that I'm convinced I have a couple of small vacuum leaks.
I'm just glad to hear her growling again!
