So COPS do not cure hot starts?
If they help starts how could they not help hot starts ----i still do not understand.

I had a TX500 back around 1975. It would die in traffic on a hot day. Those bikes did run very hot, and the coils would cut out when they got really hot. Giving the bike time to cool off a bit would allow it to start. I replaced the coils, and everything worked fine for the rest of the time I had the bike. I believe a coil can fail due to the combination of age and heat, and replacing either with COPS or a new OEM coil would fix the problem. COPS are less expensive, and IMHO, more reliable. If you have a coil that is breaking down internally, replacing with coil sticks, or a new OEM coil could definitely help performance. And definitely help hot starting, if the engine cranks over properly.. You do need a good battery, charging system and starter motor. COPS won't help a bad battery, or fried stator.
But Bill, the unscrupulous sellers says CURES hot. Look at the snippet below.
I would still say unscrupulous. Here is the definition.... willing to lie or cheat to succeed:

In the first snippet, the seller mentions that they will increase hp. It was brought up on this very forum (the seller used to be here until he was banned), how COPS did not increase hp. Myself and others could post dyno runs, before and after to prove there was no increase.
Then the seller changed his ebay post, to say that COPS will cure hot starts.
Yamaha fixed the hot start issue by changing to the 4 pole starter in 1990 (thats why upgrading the battery helps so much)
Bottom line, COPS are a good upgrade if your coils are going bad (ohm them out first), cracks dont mean anything in the coils. Maintenance for your electrical system is usually over looked. Check for signs of corrosion, IE around the ends of the wires, around the boots. If the wires have corrosion on the ends, clip of 1/8th of the ends, and good as new. The boots can be taken apart, and cleaned.
One of the things that people always say about COPS...."Well modern sports bikes have them....they must be an upgrade", well actually no. Modern sports bikes are fuel injected, so the coils producing the spark doesnt need to be as powerful. Thats why COPS are not as powerful, as the stock coils. The A/F mixture with fuel injected bikes is more precise, so less spark energy is needed.
Now, like all things there is aftermarket.

I would actually like to try those. 80000 volts. NOW THOSE are an improvement over stock.
