I've been watching a lot of you guys get parts powdercoated. So I got a few ideas of my own, and wondered if there was anybody local (Buffalo) that did powder coating. I did a google search and found a guy literally 5 minutes from my house. He got his start by mostly doing bike parts. How cool is that. I asked him if he would beadblast my steel clutch plates. He said he didn't normally do that, but after an hour of talking bikes, he said to bring them in. He charged me $20.
I made a decision to pull the trigger on a set of Marks 4-1 pipes. I'm going to get them in a few weeks and I thought, wouldn't it be cool to dyno the bike before and after. So I googled dyno Buffalo. A place shows up literally 15 minutes from my house. I just found them today so I don't know any cost. I was just excited there was a place so close. http://www.detwincam.com/. I guess I better start paying closer attention:eusa_dance:

I would think twice about a Marks 4-1 system.

There is a fitment issue. My bike has been torn apart for 3 weeks now and Mark has no idea how to get it to fit. He gets one more chance. I will know today.

I rode with a guy that had a Marks 4-1 last summer. And there are lots of them installed. Maybe there is an issue with this system in particular? Anybody can make a mistake, but Mark will make it right I'm sure. Any head milling done on your engine?

A TON of guys on the forum (including me) have installed this exhaust over the past 3-4 years.

This is the first time I've heard of a fitment issue.

Just got off the phone with the dyno guy. $100. He said they do horsepower, but they will also help with the best driveability. Advice is included in the price, but any carb work and the cost goes way up. I told him I would be doing my own work. He also said it would take about an hour, and as many pulls as it takes depending on what temps my bike is best at. as many as ten or fifteen. I know the portable dyno guys run around $50, but is the $100 in line with a shop that takes more time.

I guess it's just me....................

What the hell do I know, I was only a service manager for 12 years.

Marks a super duper.............

Anybody is more than welcome to come take a look.

Instead of getting defensive, why don't tell us what your having problems with. I've never installed the pipes so I not much help but I bet there are plenty of guys here that have excellent advice. Mark is no super hero. He's just a guy making pipes. Nobody said it wasn't his fault. Most of the guys here are just trying to help.

"LCR" out of rochester knows the vmax pretty well too, not sure how far they are or if they're still in business honestly. i've never used them but have only heard good things.

What I was trying to get across is that there have been plenty of people who have had no issues with Marks products. I have heard no complaints from anyone. If one guy out of 100 has an issue does that mean no one should buy from him?

I didn't put the blame on you or Mark. Its very possible he screwed up. It is just as possible you screwed up.

Photos of the issue, finding someone with the same exhaust and talking to them to compare measurements would go a long way toward pinpointing the problem. Good luck

Ah, c'mon now, there is a perfectly-good explanation for that. They have a dyno that can only handle 60 b.h.p. max!

Not "V-Max!!!!!!"
