Most did and some didn't. Only one report of a death that I have read about and it seems that most folk heeded the warnings and stayed at home.
The usual reports of damage to buildings and infrastructure with some homes without power.
Around our estate the main issue I can see is the redistribution of the recycling plastics that were due to be collected yesterday morning which wasn't.
By the time it was taken back in those bags that didn't have the flap secured had lost much of the contents.
Given how fierce the wind was it seems the majority got off reasonably lightly.

Very kind of you to ask and MaxMidnight has given a good summary of what I have seen on the news. I managed to escape the country and I am now in Brazil fending off the heat of the southern hemisphere summer. It is nice to think of my 1200 and 1700 safe on their trickle chargers in my garage. I don't ride them in the winter for fear of destruction by salt and I just run them up to temperature every fortnight.
