I just watched it on my DVR......:rofl_200::rofl_200::biglaugh::rofl_200::rofl_200:

you should hear my 14 with the baffle out of my megaphone. it's so loud that i don't even like it lol.

I have a loud exhaust for sure (Mark's w/ 12" can) but it sounds good to my ear. My brothers FZ1 with the can off the sound is nasty, it cracks the ear drum loud and doesn't sound good to me.
I'll have to be more prudent as to where I'm revving it up no need to have my Vmax thrown in with the rest of the so called "****".
:biglaugh:

It's not even the loud pipes....it's the obvious look for attention with the revving at stoplights. Nobody cares that you ride a bike that millions of others do also, you're not unique or special.

One of my friends who rides HD would give me some line of BS when I asked him why he revved or "blipped" the throttle every time we had to stop. His explanation was that the motor would "load up" if it idled too long and you had to keep revving it to keep from fouling a plug. Of course the BS alarm instantly went off, but then I remembered it is a Hardly cement mixer motor, and realized that it wouldn't be the weirdest thing about them.

Just finished raking the leaves and a group of about a dozen Harleys just rode by..had to chuckle..about 70 degrees today so i'm out the door myself right now

I saw about 500 harleys today.

Must have been everyone getting in a good last ride today!

(which by the way was awesome)

First thing the posers do, out this way anyway,is put on straight pipes, then an ss carb that's too big. They take a motor that runs marginal and make into total crap. I took my friends softtail for a ride (ran ok before he touched it)and while still in neutral it kept stalling when I gave it throttle. He said: "you can't give it too much throttle, you have to roll the throttle slowley" I was happy to get off it before it caught fire. All I could smell was gas. My old R100/7 was faster! And it was a dog.

Guttah just love the line " Ahhh , somebody took a **** on my ****** Harley ! "...priceless...:punk:

Dang, i finally got around to watching that......

:rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

I 'bout **** myself when the guy saw the little *** flag on the **** pile

This behaviour is not exclusive to Harley owners. Take your pick: metric cruisers, Victory's, sport bikes, etc. Anyone who likes the sound of his/her pipes is going to blip the throttle.

I always thought the throttle blipping on HDs was because they would stall out if you didn't keep revving them. :confused2:

But yeah, it's not HD exclusive by any means, though I don't see nearly as many Hondas or Stars or Vulcans with straight pipes, whereas probably half of HDs on the road do. I see kids on 600 sportbikes that hold it to the stop at redlights and bounce the motor off the 18,000 rev limiter, I guess for a similar look-at-me purpose.

Up here it seems the "in thing to do" with that crowd is drive around in 2 lower gears, keeping the R's in the stratosphere. I was behind a pack of them earlier and I'll I kept thinking was "Shift damnit!" It was painful to see and hear a pack of bikes travelling at 45mph in a low gear.

It was just like the south park episode, at the stop light they were gunning thier engines and looking around to see if anyone was looking at them.

When I owned my '06 I went on several VMax events and blipping the throttle was common upon arriving at an event/destination and when we stopped at traffic lights. I personally do not see any harm in blipping the throttle away from quiet areas (e.g. parks, residential areas) and at sensible hours of the day.

The problem lies with the individual, not the brand of bike.

I like the sound of my Holeshots....a lot. I also like the fact that my bike idles smooth as butter after a carb sync. If I want to hear the motor, I'm going to hear it right, as in WFO in second with the front wheel off the ground....not tapping it just off idle. I'd rather listen to the smooth consistent idle, among a bunch of two cylinders that lope and fart and pop.
