Im new here. I had a used 96 vmax years ago but got behind on mortgage so sold it.. now i Just got a used 2006 vmax. Got to get a tune up. Cylinders 3 and 4 ( the right side) carb issues. Seems to run on 2 or3 cylinders. Tried cleaning but no improvements.

What did that involve?
My own experience is that if the bike is left standing for any length of time (say 4+ months, then it's carbs off, key block off, pilot jets out and ensure the hole through them is clear.

Yep, i took them off and cleaned what was obvious to me and checked some of the ports but I don’t know enough to go further. Decided to use a professional with a garantee. Rather ride than wrench these days.
