Outside of knowing the factory service manual frontwards and backwards, I suspect this may be the largest by-volume source in the English-speaking context, for Gen. 1 information. That alone makes it a necessary place to be to answer questions, or to pose them, on the Gen. 1. This isn't Facebook.

Thanks ya'll for the welcome and to be honest ive never had to ask many questions about any of the Vmax that i have owned, my 1st was brand new but all the others have been slighty used and very well taken care of maybe with the exception of this 1, i will know hwen i get some carbs on it. I'm on another bike forum and it is an awesome site, the other few i have visited not so much. Looking forward to reading around on here and hopefully i wont have to ask many questions

Ask away, but you may arrive at the most-expeditious response from using the search function (upper-right corner). Probably someone on here has had the same issue, and it's in the forum 'library.' That's one of the best features.
