Hey guys, I had a 1989 a while ago and asked many questions, ended up selling it. Turns out I was drawn in once more as now I have a 1998 Vmax, purchased for 1k. Has a few leaky gaskets and seals but that is as expected. My first question is does anyone have a Airbox cover for sale? This current one has two dents in it and for some reason autoshops are refusing to touch it. I also have an extra gas tank and a black pair of good condition supertrapp slip ons.

CaptainKyle [email protected] should be able to re-work the faux airbox cover. Sean Morley also [email protected].

Looks like you may have some Cobra 4 into 4 exhausts on that. Can you confirm that from a look at any stampings? If you're riding it now and you're saying, "OK it goes well," wait until you replace the Cobras with OEM or a full exhaust. Do you recall what exhaust was on the '89? How did that run?

The Faux tank is Double walled. If you know a Good PDR guy he can Work those out for you. Had that Done before and Cheaper than repair and Paint.👊

Sorry for the late replies, I had a set of supertrapps on it, and yea these seem like cobras.

Ive called around and many people told me to go away, got a single quote from 20+ people for 450$

$ 125 plus shipping and PayPal fees
That's a great price! I'm assuming that's for buying a used cover in decent shape. The cost of paint for a re-paint probably exceeds that, and that's likely not including the cost of labor. If I'm wrong, and Kyle is mentioning that as the re-paint price, I expect he will correct me.

I think $450 for using some mid-grade paint and little in the way of repair of pieces may cover two fenders and a faux tank cover. But let the service purveyor set their rate.

That is just for a used cover in decent shape a repaint would definitely cost more.
