Nitrous help

I have a 2005 VMax and a Holley fogger nitrous kit for it. I’ve installed nitrous on a couple of my cars in the past and have a couple questions about the bike. Going a step colder on spark plugs, using higher octane fuel and need to retard the timing a few degrees. How do I retard the timing? Ive researched this and have came up blank except for one article that says I can’t do it. I don’t except that answer. I’m sure someone here knows how. I’m starting with 50 HP so I don’t need a bigger petcock valve or fuel pump. Thanks for any help or advice!
