No start, just clicking relay!

Just thought I'd close this thread properly, in case anyone else with similar issues uses it for reference. I got offered a used, good condition 2-brush starter from a fellow user, RagingMain, and after fitting, it fired right up.

Had to remove all the drain cock assembly (undoing all the hose clamps, and replacing the o-ring on the water pump tube). Went ahead and changed the oil and filter too while I was at it.

So conclusion to my problem, it was the starter all along.

I haven't taken it apart yet, but I imagine it can be rebuilt easily. If any wants my old 2 brush starter, for free + shipping (preferably UK, as airmail is xpensive from here!), to rebuild/convert to 4 brush... PM me.#
