oil level

Changed my oil about 1000 miles ago. Level is a little low, about half to 3/4 of glass.

My question is I cannot find the rest of the 20w50 I had left over but did find some amsoil 10w40 synthetic. I do not need much just a top off - think I should wait till I get a chance to get some more 20w50 or just top off with 10w40.

I ride daily and going to be a couple days till I get a chance to get some yamalube

I don't like mixing oil brands, but a little 10W40 in a lot of 20W50 shouldn't be much of a problem.

well now my oil is fine. should you check when oil is hot or cold?

on the center stand, always hot, and always give it a few minutes to settle after switching the engine off.
