HI All,
Started with the replacement of the well known oil seal replacment. I am struggling from start.
- Oil drain plug broke and partley stuck so not possible to drain.
- Oil pan it self is stuck
- Oil pan ( sensor also stuck)

So how to.
- I have read to hammer a screwdriver in between engine and pan and pry i started it but I am afraid i will do more damage then good in order toseal it again.
- Drain plug i will get out when pan is removed.
- last but not least any tips on how to remove that little wire and ( i think sensor from. the oil pan)

???

For oil switch, I used a soft jaws pliers to slightly twist back-forth while pulling down. For pan, maybe light hits with a dead blow or rubber mallet along gasket surface. I wouldn't use a pry.

What I use to split anything glued together is a very slim putty knife. I will start in an easily accessible area of the pan, lightly tap with a hammer until it breaks the seal in that area. Then turn and walk the putty knife in both directions . Then as maleko89 states, a rubber mallet to break the remainder of the seal. I have done this method on 100s if not thousands of engine oil pans and transmissions pans in the automotive world. I have never damaged a pan, block or transmission. I never had one leak after I cleaned, prepped and re-glued the surface. The trick is go slow, if it doesnt feel right, it probably isnt. Once the putty knife starts to go in, you will know it. Dont go crazy once it starts though. Only push through about an inch on the putty knife. You dont want to hit anything inside.

If you do not feel confident in this method, there is a seal cutter tool out there. This does what I explain with the putty knife in practice though its smaller and meant for tight places. This one below.....is an expensive variant. There are cheaper versions out there. This was just to show you what it looks like.

Well got the pan of,, bloody hell over seen a bolt stupid just the in front under the oil filter.
only that sensor and cable are still attached which is a ball ache.
And the o-ring replacement is needed.. its bulging out.

Any handy tips on changing this item my bike is on the midstand.
