I am a Bob Seger fan more-than I am a Bruce Springsteen guy. Bob's been around longer, he's got his own style, a very distinctive voice, and is a great lyricist. I've been attending his concerts since the late 1960's, beginning in MI and wherever since then. I've never seen Springsteen live, I never wanted to pay the ticket prices he was demanding, and now in this era of bot-ticket sales, and usually only re-sales being available here in FL, I may never see him.
I had a friend whose wife was good friends with one of Seger's managers, going back into the early 1970's. She was very attractive, and was a great businesswoman. She was my friend's wife's maid of honor, I was at the wedding and she wore a simple pale lavender dress. With her black hair and pale white complexion, a very noticeable combo.
Seger is always going to be a guy I will go to see, until he decides not to perform, and that will be a sad day.
I liked the clips. Just a factoid, where my friends who knew Seger's manager live, that's the home of Peter Fonda's current wife's family, her last name is Crockett, and yes, she's relatted to Davy Crockett. She is also related to a very wealthy family whose ancestor helped to found what has become one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies.
I didn't recognize the clip of the first chopper rider, I thought it was Mickey Rourke, from Harley Davidson & the Marlboro Man. Kevin Costner? I dunno.
Factoid question:
What was the role where Kevin Costner was the first person on the screen, but during the entire movie, he never spoke a word. No fair 'googling!'
Ironic that Dennis Hopper played one of (his and the) most iconic movie roles, as a chopper rider, but he really didn't like or ride bikes, otherwise. The guy who hitches a ride with them and who takes them to the commune to crash awhile, is Luke Askew, a noted character actor. He's the guy who gives them the acid and tells them, "when you get to the right place, with the right people, quarter (divide the tab of acid) this." New Orleans during Mardi Gras with a very young Karen Black is where Captain America and Billy decide it's 'the right time and the right place.'
