what about that chrome powdercoat? I haven't seen it in person but from the pictures it's pretty close to a polished look?

I read pure carnuaba wax u can buy mcguires at autozone. Im hoping this Eastwood diamond clear will look good

Hey guys I'm curious if any of you have tried this product on bare aluminum: SprayMax 2-part spray paint. I read a review of a Triumph guy repainting his S Triple with excellent results. It seems to be a very innovative product given that it has an internal hardener that is activated by a button / pin in the bottom of the can. Check it:

Seems like it would be the best bet for civilian-based clear coat application.

Nice one Lugan - that's the kind of thing I think I'm looking for - I just want to 'seal' the nice shiny state my scoops are in right now..

Iv done some polishing.. Scoops, wheels etc. Takes forever but its repairable unlike chrome. Looks warmer also

Wenol polish to seal lasts longer than any other polish Iv used. The stock clear coat was enough for me never to want clear again.

My eastwoods diamond clear bare metal will be here Monday ill take some pics if it turns out good! I was very happy with there engine paint I had used on my max

Why? Did it peel off too quickly, fade off too fast, or just not look good enough?

I'd just like to seal in the shine to not have to worry about polishing all the time..

Iv never clear coated any of my polished parts. But when the factory clear on my stock bike failed (white spider webbing under the clear) I wished it didnt have a clear coat.

My polished scoops (dirty cast aluminum) start to get small oxidized white spots after maybe three months. About the same time chrome would need polished anyway. Billet takes much longer to oxidize if kept dry.

If you get a stubborn white spot or small scratch you can erase them with 1000/2000 grit/wenol and elbow grease instead of re-chroming.

Heres where im at so far!!! IM VERY VERY VERY happy with results.; Yes if you get really close to it u can see the little tiny spots where it wont get polished because of being porus but it looks seriously 100x better than it did with corrosion and clear coat peeling off. I really hope the diamond clear looks good. once I apply that on monday ill post some more pictures

Looks great! If you decide to skip the clear, the finish will continue to get more mirror like each time you polish. Mothers wasn't bad.. But wenol rocks.

I never wax over the polish or wet wash naughtyG.. yet.
If you ride in the rain regularly you might be better off with clear.

You ever hear of metall? I like it and when I tried it after polishing I think it looked duller! :( I don't ride in the rain unless I get caught always always used plexus to wash my bike. Makes everything looks amazing. Only time I use water is to clean engine or anything greasey oily

I have used the Diamond Clear and it dulls the finish a little. I am a fan of Eastwood but this is not their best product. It has been a few years so it may have been improved though...

Did you used the bare metal one or just normal diamond clear?

Can't remember. Used it on polished aluminum on a 1968 Triumph TR6R I was restoring. So whichever one that was recommended for that. BTW, that aluminum was really high quality. We always make fun of Brit bikes quality but the only problem seemed to be the Lucas electrics and only then when not properly maintained. :biglaugh:
