Bill, let's back up a little. When did the problem start and did you change anything before that? Might help figure out what's going on.

When the last time you sync'ed the carbs?

Have you removed the mixture screws to see if they and or passages are dirty?

Mike

Mike,
The stalling started about a week ago.
Everything was good prior to that, the popping was gone somehow and the bike was runnin good.
then the next day, it started stalling. i didn't change or adjust anything cause it was all good.

I had it synched at the shop about 6-8 weeks ago.

I did not remove the mixture screws, should i do that?

Hello did this ever get resolved? I had the same problem my bike would occasionally stall idling hot in traffic and fire right back up again and then do it 2 minutes later very strange

sync'd the carbs and problem seems to have disappeared ......

Yes, turned out to be a bad pickup coil.
And they are not cheap :icon_rolleyes:

Yeah, unplug the P/U coils connector on left side of battery behind side cover. Early model has 5 wires and just 2 wires for 90+.

Using the black wire as your common and test each of the other four wires. Resistance should be around 110 Ohms.
