Just put our Zena down a few weeks due to lymphoma. She was rescued from Craigslist under the "Free" section.
She was underweight but a smart girl, protective and loving. She was a healthy girl until her diagnosis. Prednisone bought her a few more weeks with us but when her windpipe started to be compromised due to the tumors, we know it was time and would not see her struggle or suffer. Most all you guys have been in this situation of "Making the decision". My wife and I have been married twenty five years with no kids and this was our fifth Rottie. It never gets easier. They were all rescue dogs except for the first and I have to believe I gave these animals a life better than they were looking at and they became family members all gave us more enjoyment and pleasure than we could measure. Goodbye and I love you Zena. She is buried right outside our master bedroom window where she stood guard and watched the world go by! The wife is comforted that she is right there every night!
Swiper dog I adopted from my uncle about 5 years ago. I had to find him a new home about 7 months ago because he was unpredictable with my young son. It was tough to do and I miss him but he is at a good home and doing good. I just couldn't risk The possibility of something happening to my son.
The cats, there is Lloyd, Lonnie, Lola, Walter and Harry. My lady would adopt a cat a day if she could.
