Quad Lock - Phone Mount and Wireless Charger

After riding for 10 hours last Tuesday, I quickly realized that I couldn't use my phone as a GPS all day. My phone is mounted on a Quad Lock with the anti-vibration module, I love those mounts, they are rock solid and well made.



I could have tried to attach a power bank to the front end or recharge when stopping for gas or food, but that is not practical.
So I decided to add the wireless charging module from Quad Lock. The total cost in phone mounting solution on my Max is quite high, but I am happy with it. It's a great system.



I wanted to connect the charger to a 12v source that is controlled by the ignition key.
After looking at the wiring diagram and the fuse box, I found that my best option was to tap myself onto the fuse box 12v bus that is fed by the ignition switch (brown wire).


I soldered a wire with an inline fuse(3A) holder to the fuse box bus:
For the ground, I used a ring terminal to one of the faux tank cover release mechanism bolt.


I made sure the wiring was routed cleanly and securely along the left upper tube of the frame and placed the fuse added fuse holder between the stock one and the air box.


A few zip-ties to secure the wires and voilà!


Cant wait to listen to my music while riding with GPS on all day and more!!!

Thank you for the write up. I really like the quadlock. I have it on the gen 1 and 2. I can personally say that my phone has stayed in place at 150+ with the quadlock. My old ram mount couldn't say that.

Happy to report that this charger is fantastic. Latching my phone to it seems to be easier and more natural than it was with the regular Quad Lock clip.
The charger is quite powerfull, It can charge my phone(Pixel 8 Pro) from 10% to full in a very decent amount of time (approx 1.5hr - 2 hr) . I have not noticed any light dimming or other electrical misbehavior when charging. On top of everything it is weather proofed.
All in all, very pleased that I can use GPS and music all day with my Sena SRL mesh installed on my Shoei GT Air 2.
