Are you counting any bucks for the time & effort to remove & replace the motor mounts ?

Yes, I agree it can be PITA for normal user but uno: yar not doing it more then once and duo: its very easy while you have tools and experience.
Also I forgot to mention that I hate the look of frame braces...for me its like with hardely things...ITS SHINNY CUZ ITS CHROMED SO ITS AINT A *** THING haha

i agree with everything you said. bang for the buck, i would probably agree, altho never rode a bike with just motor mounts so can comment there. my personal opinion is to do the easy -mount, easy- to reverse mod first (braces).

but if you have $100 and want better handling, i bet its the way to go.

however. i definitely never remember saying i recommended them. Maybe i wanted to do them, but once i had them i haven't been the happiest. if you can find the post i'll clarify or graciously eat my sock.

Are you kidding? I would need to dig into 10k posts LOL
No way amigo :biglaugh:

If youre doing solid motor mounts take a stiff shot of alcohol, smack yourself in the knuckles with a crowbar, sit down and have a good cry...having gotten all that out of the way you might have less trouble but youre not in for a good time any way you slice it. It takes forever what feels like forever.

Is it worth it? You tell me...Its an opinion thing and we all got one of those.
So it goes like this:
:th_angelic008:

solid mounts:CHEAPER INSTALL SUCKS ASS
torque bars: COST MORE INSTALL IS FAST EASY / AND IT LOOKS LIKE ****

I have fix it Ace :rofl_200:

so the truth comes out. he just hates the look of them! hah. thats true though, its not like the motormounts will be uninstalled/re-installed a lot (unless you're like me and don't want them!)

it still took me and 2 other guys like 6 hours. in retrospect i shoulda just pulled the engine but it was 10? on a concrete floor

The key is realising youre basically going to pull the motor...you can leave the electrical plugged in but aside from that it all comes off, carbs, pipes, swingarm, bla bla bla.

I managed mine in probably 3-4 hours alone with a bottle jack and prybar. The fun part is getting the exhaust to seal up again and stop leaking once you pull the F****** off!

yup...PITA

yea i hear ya. i got away with just dropping the exhaust, and swingarm. carbs stayed i think.

Maybe a bottle OF Jack would have helped more ? :rofl_200:

I'm pulling the engine out of mine but I've got plenty of space and the tools to do it, it will give me a chance to do a few simple cheap mods to the engine and repaint it nice. I'm not a huge fan of the frame braces either just because the way they look, to me less is more but if you weren't wanting to do a complete tear down I could see where the frame braces would be appealing...

$309 for frames braces!!! is this normal? wow!!!! never thought they would be that much

normal? well that depends on what you mean by "normal". normal for some steel bars, maybe not :rofl_200:. but for frame braces, i guess, it depends on which ones you're looking at, but i'm not shocked to hear of it. did you look at these? http://www.rmsportmax.com/rods.html they're a little cheaper
