I was wondering if anybody knew what is the widest tire I can put on a factory 1994 Vmax rear rim without changing anything? Right now I have a factory 1580/90B15M/C 74. Thanks.

The most practical size to install is a 170/80-15. Even at this they are not recommended on the standard vmax 3.5" wide wheel. BUT, it's been done many many times over and had no real issues with it. We have mounted a 180/70-15 on one but it handled like complete ass since the sides were pulled way too far in.

You can get up to a 200/50-18 on my carrozzeria wheels and notched swingarms we sell.

On a side note, the stock rear tire on the Shadow 750 ACE (98-03) is 170/80-15 on a 3.5" rim. I rode one of them for 4 years, and never had an issue, beyond the fact that it came with the crappy Dunlop 404 shitdonuts.

On the subject of Carrozzeria wheels, do you have them in 17"? I was thinking I would go with 120/70R-17 & 190/55R17. Also, do you have pics of the rims? How much lighter are they compared to stock?

No 17's for the Vmax. Sorry. Someone weighed a set recently and I want to say the savings was over 30lbs even with the bigger tire used.

Sadly, they do not list the V-max among the Yammie bikes listed. And I do prefer the looks of the 10 spoke over the original 12 spoke.
Correct, but Sean Morley made a special order from them but not sure if it included 17" wheels as well. He still has a number of them left, but not a huge number. Carrozzeria made and sold them for the Vmax up until '08 or'09.
Probably best to email Sean if your interested. [email protected]

I think I have less then 20-25 of the original run left! Then that's it for sure! I won't be doing it again anytime soon. Too much money wrapped up for far too long.
