It does have a trip meter.....but I don't know if you can program the odometer portion of it. I looked into it a little bit, but didn't pursue it.

modern speedos use electrical pulses so if you don't have a pulse generator, a slotted disc spinning in a drill with 2 wire contacts would do it, it may take a while depending on what mileage you want to get to. ..... thinking about it an indicator unit in effect supplies pulses to the lamps - that could be rigged up but it would take a long time.

You can set the displayed odometer setting on the Koso Rx2n (p40 of the instructions refer)
