Morning all,

A friend of mine and I are planning a run from Ontario down through NY and into PA heading towards Harrisburg. I have been down this way before but only on the main highways and in a car.

So far we have figured out we are going to do Route 44 and Route 125 and have a planned our ride from Buffalo to these roads but I am hoping some locals are on the forum and could point me in the right direction for more roads like these types of twisty, elevation changing roads and possibly come along and show us some of their local favourites. We only have a few days and want to get as many good riding roads as possible.

I appreciate the advice and look forward to hearing form you all.

You could take 219 down from buffao to dubois and hit 322 just south of dubois in lutherburgh... we just road 219 to johnstown from buffalo good road

That is the exact route we were looking at for our ride towards the top of the 44 Route. A little along the lake then South towards our first destination.

Check out Route 6 across the top of Pa. you could take it across and go to the Pa. version of The Grand Canyon then from Scranton area down to Harrisburg , might be a little out of your way but fantastic riding on the back roads and some State Parks . Just a Thought. Later Kurt

I live about 5 Minutes from the 219 in Hamburg, just south of Buffalo.
When are you guys coming down this way ?
I could probably meet you and lead you on at least part of the ride down 219, we could cut over onto some Nice twisty/hilly back roads that parallel the 219 and catch the 219 in Springville,NY where it turns back into a Nice 2 lane curvy road again.
Or you could take 39 (another nice road for Bikes) from Springville across to 98 S to the 243 to the 19 and that will get you down to the 44 in PA.

+1 route 6 is great!

We are looking August 7,8 and 9. Leave the London Ontario area early Wednesday morning and ride along Lake Erie down to Niagara/ Buffalo, cross the border there and work are way towards the 219 and go from there.
We are not sure how far we are going to go that day. Pretty well ride till we are worn out and pick it up again the following day and then ride home hard on the Friday. It's not a lot of time but we figure we can get in the rides we have been looking at on-line and our extras before we have to head back. As we solid our plans up I will make sure I post it so we can hook up with whomever wants to show us their favourites in the areas we are in.

I look forward to hearing from you all and will be sure to eyeball that Hwy 6 route mentioned above.

+1 Rode the eastern half of this route a few years ago. Very scenic. Hope to do the rest soon.
Cheers!

Been up that way for work many times but never made it further east than Renova. Always wanted to take the bike up there.
