shuts off

Help me my 97 max starts and then randomly shuts off may run for 30 seconds or 2 then quits like switched off

Starving for fuel would be my guess...but it could be electrical as well. I would verify that you have sufficient fuel in the carb bowls, then check for nice spark at the plugs.

Try wiggling the wires going to the main fuse and fuse block and see if condition occurs. Also, take right steering neck cover off and do the same with the key switch. Check float levels...they should be between 15-17 mm.

Did it just start happening or bike been sitting a long time....

Check batt connections also

Max has been known to still run pretty good on 3 out of 4 cylinders but....nothing like having all of them firing.....sounds like your on to something.....inspect the rest of your wiring closely while your at it......

Choke is not stuck on is it....make sure lever is moving plungers both ways
