I would say that stainless is fine, even tho more brittle, they are so damn big to begin with doesn't matter....

I will say if you use stainless bolts anywhere be sure to use neversieze, grease or something them, stainless bolt and nut put together and tightened good will almost always gall the surfaces together and never come apart without cutting them or breaking them......Corrosion isn't needed to make it happen, it's instantaneous......I run into this all the time when these lineman bolt leads to big Xfmrs and Breakers without using it. When testing this apparatus I have to disconnect it. Usually involves a sawzall or a 1/2 breakover bar, cheater pipe and enough grunting and sweating to break the bolt in two by twisting it far enough to break:bang head:.......

A stainless nut or bolt by itself, threaded into some other type of metal will almost never do this..

Nice one Fred. They are cheaper on the big 10x1.25 bolts for the engine mounts, but I couldn't check their price on freight because their server was down when I tried to go to checkout. :-(
They are almost a dollar cheaper on some of the bolts I was looking at!

The range that Stig had kinda blew me away. It took me ages to find a place with such a good range! Pretty cool to be able to order it all at once. I haven't finalized the order I'm doing yet, but their freight cost is always added to my cart, and the price seems pretty good.

I was pretty stoked that they had 10 x 30 x 2.5 washers, and 10x1.25 flange and dome nuts. Even simple stuff like mixed bags of M6 cap heads to round out the order. :biglaugh:

I had a ball. My cart is at about 63 english sheckles now. 158 washers and 118 bolts, inc freight. I was only looking for 4 10x1.25 bolts... but they have SO MUCH STUFF! :eusa_dance: :rofl_200:

I need to order a set of 4 M10x1.25 dome nuts for my diff, but i don't like paying 5 quid for a small padded envelope. I need to confirm with them because they must go by items and not weight. Howcome can they charge 5 quid to post 4 nuts? They must come in a shoebox size packing... LOL

When I bought 6 10x1.25 flanged nuts Stig only charged me 3 squids shipping to Australia. It was just a little padded envelope.

A set of front MacPherson struts with springs and rear coil overs for my car was sent from Germany for 21 Euro. It had a sticker on it saying it was too heavy for one person to lift safely.

Like that makes any sense! :rofl_200:
