Here you go:
Don't let this stuff run-off into the storm drain!

Isopropanol
"Gets the wet out!" Water-soluble.

MTBE (CA-causing contaminant found in many wellfields)-solvent
www.swrcb.ca.gov/board_info/agendas/2001/february/0131-01.doc
highly flammable

Xylene-solvent
highly flammable

My US DoT Emergency Response Guide warns of the potential of vapors travelling long distances to a source of ignition, and flashing back to the source of the spill, which may be that puddle of this combination of chemicals under your stuck carb float, spilling onto the ground. Be careful, and you should have more than one dry chemical extinguisher in your garage, preferably a 5 lb. or larger.

POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
Target Organs/Primary Route(s) of Entry:

Eye:
Irritant

Skin:
Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause dermatitis, scaling and possible
systemic effects.

Ingestion:
Low level of toxicity, small amounts of liquid aspirated into the respiratory system
during ingestion may cause pulmonary edema.

Inhalation:
Narcotic chemical affecting central nervous system resulting in: dizziness, nausea,
visual impairment, narcosis and muscular impairment.
Miscellaneous:

**** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****

Eye:
If the product contacts the eyes, immediately wash the eyes with large quantities of
room temperature water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the lower and
upper lids. Get medical attention immediately. A follow up visit to an
ophthalmologist should be made. Contact lenses should not be worn when working with
this chemical.

Skin:
If the product contacts the skin, promptly wash the contaminated skin with soap and
water for at least 15 minutes. If this product penetrates the clothing, promptly
remove the clothing and wash the skin with soap and water. Systemic effects may be
delayed 18 to 72 hours, therefore keep individual under observation.

Ingestion:
If the product is ingested. DO NOT INDUCE A PERSON TO VOMIT. Get medical attention
immediately.

Inhalation:
Move the exposed person to fresh air at once and call emergency medical care. If
breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give
humidified oxygen.

Notes to Physician:

**** SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ****

Flash Point: -19 F. (-33 C.)

AutoIgnition Temperature: N/A

Flammable Limits
Lower Limit: Explosive Limit (LEL): 1.0

Upper Limit: Explosive Limit (UEL): 7.0

Extinguishing Media:
Use halon replacement or carbon dioxide extinguishers or alcohol foam for small
fires. Water spray or fog can cool fire but not be effective in extinguishing fire.
Large fires should be extinguished with alcohol foam. Use water spray to cool
containers exposed to fire. Containers may explode in heat or fire.

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards:
Dangerous fire and explosion hazard when exposed to heat or flame. T-Butyl Methyl
Ether and Isopropanol are extremely flammable and forms explosive mixtures with air.
Isopropanol vapors may travel considerable distance to a source of ignition and
flash back.

Special Fire Fighting Procedures:
Wear NIOSH approved SCBA respirator in the positive pressure mode and chemical
protective clothing.

General Information:
Flammable Limits: 1.0 to 12.0

**** SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ****

Small Spill: Remove sources of heat or ignition, provide adequate ventilation,
contain leak using absorbent, inert, non-combustible material.Large Spill: Contain spill, transfer to secure containers. In the event of an
uncontrolled material release, the user should determine if release is reportable
under applicable laws and regulations.

**** SECTION 7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE ****

Handling:
See other sections of MSDS.

Storage:
See other sections of MSDS.

**** SECTION 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION ****

GENERAL HYGIENE CONSIDERATIONS:
Use normal hygiene practices.

OTHER PRECAUTIONS:
Product is Extremely Flammable, handle accordingly.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS:
Local Exhaust: Provide local ventilation to maintain exposure levels below
recommended exposure limits.Mechanical (General): In confined spaces, mechanical ventilation may be required.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Eyes/face:
Use splash proof chemical, safety goggles or appropriate full-face respirator.
Contact lenses should not be worn when working with this chemical.

Skin:
Use natural rubber or neoprene gloves as required.

Respirators:
Do Not use air purifying respirator. Use appropriate NIOSH approved supplied or
self contained respirator. Respirators must be selected based on the airborne
levels found in the workplace and must not exceed the working limits of the
respirator.

Other Protective Clothing/Equipment:
If there is a possibility of exposure of an individual's body to the product, wear
body-covering work clothes to avoid prolonged or repeated exposure.

Yep....it's a pretty powerful kick-in-the-*** for your motor. Use with caution, definitely wouldn't exceed the suggested dose...not like seafoam where you can really dump as much as you want in there.

Yep,sounds like it has enough good stuff that the EPA will ban it soon! Seems like a lot of good products have gone this route.

Before MSDS. I’d better get some before they ban it. Anything this toxic has got to work well.
My father in law had a drum of this liquid I used to dip carbs in. Put my hands in it all the time, he did too. Cleaned incredible. It turned out to be carbon tet. After he died, a hazmat team carted the 50 gal drum away. There were lots of questions on where it came from. I think he clipped it from the Navy base when he worked there. Except for the constant twitching-It never affected me.

All these safety regs were needed years ago. Never had ventilation, respitators, safety inspections, EPA. Better late than never.

Wonder how this stuff affects the non-metal items in the fuel system? (Hoses, o-rings, gaskets, etc). :confused2:
