Strange Problem

I have done a little work on the bike I have acquired recently, now after reassembling, I have a small issue. I can start the bike, for a few seconds, it revs up to about 4k then dies out . I can hear the fuel pump click on, for a few seconds, the the fuel pump relay seems to be working. Is there a vacuum switch that engages the fuel pump after the initial start sequence? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

did you have any carb work done? i ask because if you have, then perhaps the float(s) is/are off?

Vacuum on tank? the tip over valve clogged?

Fuel bowls vent tubes kinked or badly routed?

If it doesn't have the correct tapered slider, the snapper valve just slams shut.

This may be your problem ,4K will empty your carb bowls quick and if your fuel pump is not pumping adequately this is certainly something I would check out..
