No, no, no....not what you're thinkin' at all! :rofl_200:

Every year I think, I bet I can take this big Memphis Shades shield off and ride without it like everybody else. So yesterday I did just that....yanked the shield off & went for a nice blast down the Taconic, 25 miles or so, with just blissful silence! Maybe a tiny bit of wind hiss but not the turbulence I get with the shield....it was great! :clapping:

But, just like every other year, (and maybe just a touch worse this year), after a half hour or so I'm heading back home to re-install the shield, back aching like a bitch from fighting the chest wind, thinking..."why did I do that----AGAIN!!" :bang head:

Guess me and the 'Memphis' are just a fact of life, for life....well, until next year, when I try it again!! :biglaugh:

Well I am glad that was cleared up

Not sure if riding nude on a bike is a good idea never know when a bee or wasp might get in the wrong spot:biglaugh:

I rode naked anonymously for years till my balls wore the threads and material off the seat. Had to have Sean replace it this last winter. I have to cover up now.

I dont' mind the wind in a tee shirt but when i have my jacket on withthe vents open it's liek a parachute, I can't stand going over 55 mph, then I wonder why dont' I have a windshield than i go an look at pics of Max's with hem and instantly remember.

I'm with on that one Danny! Every year I also take the shield off and go for a ride. I have the same problem, my back kills me for days after the ride. The other reason for the shield is the bugs here in Northern Ontario. After a ride at night, my shield is covered in bug, but I'm not.

So sometimes, form is not best over function - hey I agree, a max looks better without a windshield, but for me it's not worth the cost of comfort.

Mike

Funny, last year while I was riding mostly in town in the summer, I took my Hellfire off for a while. Didn't like it, one bit. Only plus was better ventilation through the helmet.

Shield went straight back on, I got so used to it I love it now.

I took off my Givi, which is much smaller than Dannymax's, Maxcruiser's or NaughtyG's windshields, I could only stand it for about 2 weeks then back on it went. Once you get used to riding behind a windshield, no matter how small it seems, it's hard to go back to a naked bike.

All this testimonial only means one thing...................Getting old sucks!!......I know I didn't sign up for it either!?!?!?.....

....and no.....my fairing hasn't been off since it was put on many many years ago.........no plans to either.......:rofl_200::rofl_200:

yo dan-O i know you have a bad back as well as i do, just thinking about my back makes it go into spasms, i know the wind after a while gets to it but have you tried wearing a back belt or kidney belt. i do on long rides or anything longer then 30 min and makes a huge difference, it only takes a little bit before im totally wreck and cant move and in pain/need pills/small chick standing on my back........ actually that will make it worse but you get the point.

I DON'T HAVE A BAD BACK , BUT JUST THINKING ABOUT HEAD , MAKES ME HAVE A BACK SPASM ! .. .. :wkwk: / / :rofl_200::biglaugh::rofl_200:

I know how you feel Dan,
Fargo`s place is 63 miles from me and everytime I ride out there, I get blasted.
The flyscreen that I used to have on it helped alot by blowing the wind over me but I had to have that 5" tach sittin` up front but fighting the turbulance of a big shield is too much for me and mu messed up back.
Out here in San Bernadino county , from October to May, sometimes the winds gust up to 80mph
on a bad day
so I just load up on advil and mortrin and ride anyway.:rofl_200:

I have wore them Rov but have this theory that there is exercise value in routine back flexing and back belts may eliminate some of that. :confused2:
