The Republicans have had the Senate and the POTUS for four years, the Democrats the House of Representatives. What legislation passed, what didn't, and the Executive Orders issues, the presidential appointments to the judiciary and executive branches: that is all now history, or it will be in twelve more days.

I am optimistic that the incoming administration and with the honorable opposition's co operation, will be able to use their position to promote economy, efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness to the immediate and the long-range needs of the republic, while using democratic means to accomplish these ends. "Of the people, by the people, and for the people," economic, social, and political cooperation across local, sate, and federal government, with an eye to re-establishing our international reputation as the leader of the free world. IMHO, the USA has never been the same since John and Bobby Kennedy and MLK were murdered. It has been down hill since that time. I think the real question that needs to be asked, and answered, is what drove those protesters, most peaceful, to feel the need to break into the Capitol building and trash offices and fight the police? I will say this,,I do not hold that the Capitol building is any more sacred than my home or your's. Both deserve the same amount of respect.

I've always thought protests are like football games. Everyone neatly files into the stands ready for a good time, then excitement builds, the team wins or loses, someone throws a chair, then everyone starts tearing the place apart. Caught up in the moment and regretting it the next day.

I had friends there who witnessed it first hand. Now he stoked his supporters to attempt a coup and our nation's capitol was assaulted. The last time the capitol was assaulted was by the British in 1814! I don't understand how Trump supporters can ignore the historical significance of that. It was a day Trump had been promoting for weeks, he gave a speech shortly before the assault, he told his supporters to march there, he said he would march with them. He didn't march with them. Guess he couldn't due to the bone spurs acting up again.

Kronx,,You have just repeated the talking points and views of one side of the argument, the other side also has a very good argument, but the fact is the Gov. and people in D.C. simply do not work for the U.S people any longer, it is dysfunctional, both parties are, and Trump was created by those horrible abuses and dysfunction of D.C. Remember the U.S people put Trump in office,,not Putin as you probably believe. When you have a marriage that becomes dysfunctional what do you do, get council, change your ways, stay together and be happy,or co-exist for the sake of your kids, or you separate and work out a divorce. There's going to be a massive reckoning over all of this. It will cost Big Tech billions and many people are going to go to prison.

Countless people will lose not just their jobs, but their careers.

The legal carnage will last for at least the next 2 years.

I think it would have helped if there was at least one court case to examine the evidence to see if there was voter fraud. There was an investigation for the previous election saying the Russians were tampering with the election results. It seems most of the anger is that not one court will consider an investigation.
