Discovery channel sent Jay barbieri to mustang to day to film for a new show thats going to air this spring. He and michelle smith (the blonde from the original american thunder series) are going to host it ,it will be called "two wheel thunder"

Think its cool to work in the motorcycle industry and even cooler when the place gets on the discovery channel.heres a pic of Jay and the guys from my dept, were mustangs metal shop and we all take pride in what we do. the other pic is of some of the pans I weld ,if it came from mustang in the last year or so I welded it!(except for some of the back rest recievers the come from ^%#$%^an and have beeen breaking lately.)

Sweet! Never understood why Mustang never made a Vmax seat.

Isn't Mustang a sister company to Sargent?

I have a Sargent on my SV.

Now I see why your seat looks like it does.

Chris

+1 Very cool! We got a "man on the inside" at Mustang!! :punk:
"man on the inside" will only help if you dont have a vmax! they dont make a seat for the max because the owner looks at the vmax as a sport bike ,mustang only makes seats for "cruisers" I ve inquired with him personaly.
Asfor how my seat looks ,it because I shaped it that way ,the only help from mustang was that the VP made the custom cover for me,a very sweeet cover indeed.

just curious, how many of you would buy a seat that looked similar to mine? and whats it worth?or what would you change about it?

Met Michelle Smith 2yrs ago at Carlise Bike wk and yes she does have a nice RACK,but she is vertically challenged but who cares, easier to see! Twisted you need to sew her up a leather THONG and Bra and see if you can help with the install,if not there are many of us who WILL!!!! JIM 3933

Are you talking a complete replacement or a rework service?
If you do a rework, I would like to know a price I guess I would be interested if it was in the price range of others that do the rebuild. What is the extent of 'rebuild' done on your seat?

Your seat is very similar in basic design to the Corbin seat but granted far nicer looking and I am sure more comfortable. I don't know if I like the lip on the drivers section but I don't dislike it either. I would have liked to see the seat a little pointier to fill in the gap on the right side up near the faux tank cover.

I know corbin's are very expensive and then they are too dang hard. I charge $300 for reshaping a corbin plus a little more if they want 2 toned material. Outright new they are half again that much and still suck. I do not suggest people to buy the corbin and then have me rework it.

Agreed corbin pan is junk, their foam is hard, and its a ***** to put gas in it.when my seats done the lip will be there but the passender area will be flat,my wife says it pushes her forward ,not comfy, the point will go all the way to faux air cover.stitching wont be so fancy as on the seat I have.

Yeah Rich, I would have interest in such a seat for my "cruiser" Max. For my Max that I ride aggressively, I still prefer Sean's reworked stocker and you can't beat the workmanship, price and turnaround time! I don't know if Mustang could do it for the profit margin that they probably need. (damn the bean counters) Don't know if you will be able to cup or dish the "sofa" style one piece seat enough but you will be able to make the middle piece or what I call the backstop larger for a more supportive ergonomic. I do like the molded cover which is totally trick and factory like. Hope something can be produced!:punk:
