does the ventrue starter fit the vmax?

I am after a 4 brush to replace my 2 brush motor

Those are the same engine cases so YES.
However I think it may be 2 brush old type starter motor which is not worth
much IMO.
Unless You know its a 4 brush, huh?

I have a 2005 starter if interested off a 05 vmax with 19,000 miles.

rick, if it is a vmax starter Im interested..... please pm me and let me know cost... thanks

To clear matters up. The early venture 1300's (86-93) should bolt up with no issues. The later Ventures (and Royal Star Ventures) will not. I think you can use one of them and swap the end that bolts to the block to get a working unit. I am going to try one as we speak.

Ricks starter is a far better alternative at the moment though.

I want to chime in on this! I was told several months back by a venture guru. The venture riders like to swap out their starters for vmax ones because they are strong
er and last longer

The normal venture units are the same as the old ones. However, the newer units are not direct bolt ons but according to the microfiche use many of the same internals as the newer vmax's. That's why I am thinking a newer star starter with swapped end cap (with the retaining bolts) will be equivalent to the newer vmax starters.
