Hey MDoe8:

Sorry it's an unrelated question, but...who makes the windshield on yer bike? I love it! What model is it?

Thanks!

Elimax

Boy, that bike sure does look familiar... how is she holding up for ya? And how is the funny gas treating you... it sure is fun to twist that throttle and speed off into hyperdrive!

The nitrous fuel pump was broken when I got it unfortunately. Not sure if it happened during loading it up or what but haven't used the nitrous yet becuase of that. The outlet nipple on the fuel pump snapped.

Otherwise the bike is holding up well. Not entirely tuned properly for this elevation but it does alright still :) Love the VMax!

Sucks about the fuel pump... NX should replace it, if not, I think you might be able to pick one up for around $80.... well worth it:eusa_dance:. Another pretty cool thing I wanted to do with the purge was to get some colored LEDs placed under the headlight and connect them to the purge switch so when activated, it would color the nitrous/smoke... it may be something to play around with if nothing else. Let me know if you have any questions on that bike.... I'm pretty familiar with it.:punk:

Do any of you know which windshield he has on this Max???

Thanks.

if its the same one abe had on, its the OEM Instrument Cowl. they are discontinued so be prepared to search hard, or pay a bit on ebay. think $120 or so.

my mistake elimax, yes it's a stock windscreen and they are hard to come by now.

hubeer - Any suggestions on jetting? If I go any higher in elevation at all, it begins cutting out pretty bad. From what I understand, it is the stage 7 jet kit with stock mains. I'm at 5000 ft but would like some flexiblity to go lower in elevation without it messing up.

bought a new fuel pump today! Only problem is...it's been snowing for a bit now and i won't be able to ride for possibly the rest of the winter!!

Let me know if you have any questions with the install or running the system.

Jeff

I think i'm all set. Only question would be if the jetting on the solenoids isn't up to snuff for my altitude and already rich tune. I'm sure it'll be fine though. The pump itself will be cake to install as it's in plain site. Thanks though!

The nitrous jets are matched as a set (fuel jets are matched to the NOS jets) so you will be just fine. When I sprayed the 40hp shot my air/fuel curve went a little rich (which is on the safer side) so I'm sure you will be just fine.

Yeah I was more curious about the bike running rich already if the nitrous shot will start sputtering it out.

Sorry, I misunderstood ya. If you wanted to jump down a size on the mains, I doubt it would hurt. If I remember correctly we had 152.5's in there, but I'm not 100% on that. It sucks you basically have to pull the carbs to see what you have, but maybe get some 150's (or whatever the next size down would be) and go from there. Even if you are rich right now, you will be fine to spray. If won't change the A/F ratio enough to make a difference or foul a plug, you will just be a little more on the safe side.

Let me know how it goes.

Jeff

How much difference will I feel with the nitrous? I ran a 2008 600rr without the nitrous, we punched it from about 30, and I pulled at first but then he walked on by with ease at the top of second. I want ot be ahead of those boogers till at least 100!

40hp is going to make a hell of a difference for sure. Either way you have the age thing going for you!

Very true!

i may throw it on a dyno once it's all fixed. Made 125 and then 167 with the nitrous through the previous owner so it'll be interesting to see the elevation richness difference.
