interesting link.....the dex cool from what I have read is responsible for eating the head gaskets in a lot of GM cars

if it is on the internet it must be true!!

From what I heard about WW on other sites, I thought it was meant to be used straight not mixed?

I also remember reading that water has really really good heat dispersion properties, but antifreeze not so much.
So as long as you're not in really freezing conditions, you can use more water and less antifreeze (of course you want some antifreeze as it also has corrosion inhibitants etc) and with a mix that's more like 60/40 or even all the way to 80/20, you get amazingly good cooling with still decent protection against oxidation.

Having said that, my max is running 50/50 water and coolant mixture here in FL and is fitted with a 195 fan switch and an aftermarket fan which I'm told is the dog's bollox, and in all traffic and highway in super humid super hot weather the hottest the OEM gauge has ever shown is maybe 2mm above 1/2 way
