WHEN YOU HOOK THAT TO A BATTERY , IT SHOULD JUMP OUT OF YOUR HAND & OR AT LEAST SCARE THE SHIT OUT OF YOU IF YOUR NOT READY FOR IT ! :ummm:

I would check the windings ,starting with the terminal where your battery cable goes.In a lot of cases the solder melts where the windings join the terminal. Also check the brushbox and ensure the boxes are not loose and burnt where they mount on the endcap.can you turn the armature when it is assembled? It should turn easily. Can you slide the armature a little bit back and forth?check the brush spring tension.Remove all rust, grease the endcap bush.Make sure the battery you are using is a fully charged one.Kevman.Ithink there is a writeup on one of the euro vmax sites [dutch]on how to repair the starter .merry xmas

I've must to ask becouse there are a triple gear rato from the starter
to the flywheel so it might be a difrence.
This is a very, very big gear ratio so common do not treat me lakie child with his toy, i know what im doing.
Ok?

Check this also, carefuly looking at this, couple times.
There's a litlle resistance but in normal condition.
In the end i've found a usesd another starter for low price.

It's may be just a bad luck for me, starter simply dead for no reason.

Another way of testing a starter’s condition is to have it tested on equipment that measures the starter’s "amp draw."

A good starter should normally draw a current of 60 to 150 amps, depending on the size or power rating of the starter.

Some "high torque" GM starters may draw up to 250 amps, so refer to the OEM specifications to make sure the amp draw is within the acceptable range.

If the starter does not spin freely, or draws an unusually high or low number of amps, it is defective and need to be rebuilt or replaced.

An unusually high current draw and low free turning speed typically indicate a shorted armature, grounded armature or field coils, or excessive friction within the starter itself (dirty, worn or binding bearings or bushings, a bent armature shaft or contact between the armature and field coils).

The magnets in permanent magnet starters can sometimes break or separate from the housing and drag against the armature.

A starter that does not turn and draws a high current may have a ground in the terminal or field coils, or a frozen armature.

Failure to spin and zero current draw indicates an open field circuit, open armature coils, defective brushes or a defective solenoid.

Low free turning speed combined with a low current draw indicates high internal resistance (bad connections, bad brushes, open field coils or armature windings).

hope this helps get you back up and running.

.
Ha i just checked this and... bull's eye :)
The magned was cracked but why :ummm:
But who could know :)
It's busted anyway and definitly non-repeair.

In the end a bought a used old type one.
But bad luck continous.
Starter came to me with broken rear case definitly caused by DHL.
They will gave back my money but that's not the point.

The point is that i'm still without the starter :bang head:
You not find a lot of used max parts in PL like on ebay so now must buy new one and hurt my wallet a lot :bang head:

Maybe Morley would ship to PL, have you checked with him?

Thanks but i think to get new one in PL.
In PL cost: 250$.
In USA 100$ plus shipping.
Time to wait: same.
So my lose this time.

BTW my max is from USA and i have really a pain in the ass with
"beloved" customs oficers, taxes, duty ...etc.
They do what they want and you have nothing to say.
So if i dont have to i do not import.

GREETINGS

We sometimes mark the item as used with a lower value when internationally shipping.

When I send stuff overseas, I generally mark it as "gift"

He he, but then our (European) bureaucrats can set the value as high as they want....so it is actually better to set a lower value then saying it is a gift.

But most of the time they ask for a money tranaction 'declaration' which really determines the value, and even a gift has a value altough it was not paid for.

When I sent my old pipes to France and a few things to Canada, for the declaration I just used the cost of shipping.
