We need to get you a new clutch handle :eusa_dance:
Bob Gave me one but because I work the clutch with only 2 fingers when I down shift, I kinda like it the way it is .
I saw handles simular to mine in shops and on e-bay so I heated it up a bit and bent itto the shape it is now.
Iwill put the one Bob gave me on soon but for now I`m happy with the one I have, I just wish I had the ball on the end (just for looks).

But thanx anyway bro.
By the way the bike is running great and waiting for that ride.
<<Dave>>:punk: So not to hijack the thread; I`m going out to do do the brake resevoir cap, I hope it turns out as well as the other one did.

Hey Dave, while you're at it, hit the end of that clutch lever with the file, kinda "mini ball" it!! :clapping:

My son has been wanting to join me on several VMax rides so we took a spin to the Haliburton Highlands yesterday afternoon. We put about 250 miles on the bike and had a great time. We were pushing 114 miles on the odometer before the reserve light came on which I think is fairly respectable given our combined weight of 440 pounds! Saw some excellent places that we can stop at and fish on our next trip out that way. I have to say that this bike is my favourite 2-up cruiser to date!

Cheers!

Blaine

Friday evening... I worked on a friends Vmax for him. Put on my old braided brake lines and bled his brakes. Worked the bee's knees and he's VERY happy with them.

Rode mine to dinner with him. Of course we had the ladies with us so my sissy bar went on.

checked floats, lowered mains. still ******* with it... still runs ok tho.

Rode 180 Miles on a local poker run. Every stop, lots of questions and comments about the max. Was a good day, was able to leave a few roll on asphalt tattoo's for the v-twin peep's.

Finished polishing the covers on both sides and startedpainting the tank cover `cause it was lookin`road weary also going to take the battery to auto zone for another free charging:eusa_dance:

found out i could adjust the free play in the rear brake pedal. i had no idea. i thought thats what that bolt/nut was for but couldn't find any mention of it until i started digging in my haynes.

adjusted it so there shouldn't be much freeplay and we'll see how it goes today.

Went out to check the paint job I did on the tank top and, the f@#*ing paint curdled:bang head::damn angry::damn angry: I don`t know what happened but now I have to strip it and do it again. this is getting to be ridiculous I`m running out of paint and patience the side covers always come out great but the top piece is always a bitch to get right.:confused2:
Well its back to square one again.
on the good side, my battery should be good and charged courtesy of auto zone.:eusa_dance:

That sucks Dave!

I moved mine out of in front of the truck to behind the G8. I'll be driving the (FORD) truck for a while now... Ugh... ******* GM cars are ****! I had to order a lower control arm (Bad Ball Joint) from AU because GM has NONE in the US for it. Oh and the car has a WHOPPING 10,000 miles on it. My truck... 90,000 with original BJ's! F ME!

I have the exact same problem with my front rotors as you do. Did you buy them off ebay from this guy [tmax500hk] I do know I should have replaced the pads, but didnt this time. The vibration was real bad when I first put them on, so I rotated them a 1/4 turn on the hub and it got a lot better. I still need to pull the wheel and throw the stock rotors on to verify that they are warped, cause I still think they are.

Anyway, I contacted the seller and he said he couldnt give me a refund on the rotors, but said the best he could do was sell me another set for $70 off. Reason being is that they were probably dropped in shipping, cause the package they came in looked like **** and was not boxed properly when I received them. I paid "him" $50 to ship them and he didnt take the time to package the rotors right and says its my problem to contact the post office to make a claim. And to do so I had to have the package that it came in. WTF, I threw the flimsy ass scuffed up cardboard in the trash as soon as I opened it. Regardless, I'm not happy with this rotor seller on ebay and won't buy another set from him, even if he does give me a discount. Good luck with your similar issue!

hey that's interesting. I'm gonna lift the wheel up today and check for warpage. To the naked eye they seem totally straight, and my packaging arrived intact (I even still have it lol), so I dunno but I need to get to the bottom of this problem and eradicate it. And yes I used brand new pads. I'll try the rotating trick too, but can't see how that would help?
What a PITA, it brakes so much better but that vibration is scary. :bang head:

Keep us posted, G. I'm thinking that this vendor ran a bad batch and needs to make it right. When did you receive yours. It was late June for me.

Sorry for the iPhone pics, but is all have on me.

I like the look, but they feel totaly different from the stockers. I feel like I lost some of my lower speed turning radius, kinda strange.
I guess I'll give them a week or two to see if they grow on me.

Thanks again Garrett for the hookup!

how did you go about that? Looks awesome
Well,
Originally it was Dan`s (Dannymax) idea.
We got a file and very carefuly filed down the writing on both sides of the yamaha lettering until it was smooth then I used a little water with the file with very little preasure to smoothen it out more then, I hit them with wet and dry sand paper 400 to 800 to 1000 grit until you could practicaly see your self and then, I hit them with Blue Magic metal polish too finish them off.
<<Dave>>:coolgleamA:

I re primered the tank top and sanded it with 800 grit , wiped it down and shot the first coat of black on it .
So far it looks ok for a light coat so we`ll see what happens tomorrow I guess and, if it does it again... we`re going delorean style ( high polished metal and wax.)
