I had an issue with my new, to me anyway, rear Kosman wheel. All the bearings and spacers were a little different. I wanted new bearings as they were worn (bearings) Only one is stock size. Who comes through for me?
Sean Morley does. And Garrett is always a huge help. Even though it's friday and they're both super busy. :clapping: Plus I got a good prospect on a sizable powder coating job. A dismal day turned bright. Guess where I'll be spending mone on anything I need?

Wonder if that's the same issue the guy in Lima, Peru is having with his new wheel and rear axle seemingly too short? :confused2:

I took a ride to meet up with Green-Backer 135 miles away. We had lunch and talked, I hand him the handle bar, he checked out my bike. I jumped back out on the road and returned home. It was a great ride, I ran the highway but was fun to blast down the roadway. I am glad I was able to help a fellow max'er out, wish I had other parts he could have used, but I think he is getting the rest from CaptainKyle

I was wondering the same thing N.G. The brake side isn't even close to stock. And, has a snap ring groove machined into the bearing to set the depth on the bearing I believe. All the seals and roller bearing were the same.

Finally cleaned off the bug splats that I collected on my way back from Tech Day last weekend. Installed the new grips that I bought from CaptainKyle even though I told myself that I wouldn't buy anything during tech day. Matched my FJR clutch master with an FJR ABS master. Finished black-compound polishing the first of two valve covers that I'm prepping as part my "valve shim" project.

I am preparing to get my engine installed, but this is my a.m. job. Pretty dirty, but my Harbor Freight investment is working well. I was going to use a spray gun to paint but decided to just rattle-can it for now. I got some quality paint from the local auto body shop supplies store.

The HFT sandblaster worked well, but they only had one size of the nozzles avail in the store. The can comes w/4 sizes, I ended up using the largest. I tried the 1/8" size but it plugged w/the kiln-dried silica sand size grit I was using (30/65).

I put my newly purchased CarbTune to use. Oh my! What a difference! :punk:

Three of the carbs were pretty well lined up, but one was way out of wack. I thought it sounded good before, now it REALLY sounds good. I like to speed up just so I can down shift and hear it growl. Yeah, 45 yr old going on 15.

Also got my KTM fired up and took it out for a spin for the first time in many years. Overall, a good motorcycle day.

Well today gee I went for another ride, but this was an event for local children, we brought Easter Baskets. The Easter Bunny rode on a bike too. I was one of only 6 bikes that was not a V-Twin, so there was 90 or so V-Twins and out of that 90 better that 75 where H-D's And you know about every one had something to say about my Max that walked by it. The number one thing was "is it fast", number two was "that is one fast bike you got" It is sorta funny when everyone around you is looking at your bike lol. A few of them said that they had a chance to buy one but never did. I guess the legend of H-D carried too strong for some and others knew of the legendary ride of the Max but got sucked in the H-D pool. But any way we rode to the Mission that we where donating to welcomed our Easter Basket with open arms. We watched the children get their Easter Basket, We where thanked by the children and we rode off back where we started for a social gathering. Over all I had fun and enjoyed others looking at my bike and getting comments from people that had a lot money invested into their rides.
I know there is the area to post what you did for your MAX, but I can not help but ride mine. I just want to ride it and enjoy a fine bike.

What you did is buy a lot of goodwill for bikers in your area by helping the kids. Maybe not what you did "to" the bike, but what you did "with" your bike. Sounds like a worthwhile event, and those kids' smiles stay with you long after you departed the site where you met them.

Put some non-ethenol 90 octane & about 4 oz. of Seafoam in the black & c.f. '98 today . Coming back from a , down the I-20 watering hole , I have a 45 - 60 mph. left curve merge lane and then right curve 2 lane to 1 lane to re-enter I-20 . I checked the left mirror for traffic and noticed a HID single headlight right on my tail that I hadn't seen prior to the l. & r. curves , so he had merged while I was in the first curve while I was leaning & staying in my lane. I didn't see any popo on the 20 so I let it all loose in 2nd , blasted 3rd and looked back for a second and he was about 60 ft. behind me . I knew he was on it , so I held 4th to the limit and then let off as I was doing about jail time speed , and he went on by wide open. I know I couldn't match him up top , but I whipped him pretty good . Don't know exactly what he was on , but it had a small fairing and he was crouched down low. I followed him for about 3-4 miles at about 110 and then decided to blow past him so he could hear that Kerker at full song. Morleys kit was doing its thing and I think I scared him when I went by as he swerved a bit as I got close and whooshed by him. Next exit was mine and he was just pulling up on me as I let off for the ramp. Gave me a thumbs up as he went past tucked at ludicrous speed . Great day in Atlanta.

Good for you Cap! Nothing like a long ride to soothe the soul.

Man that is a great day anywhere. I took a trip to drop off my stock handle bar to Green_Backer, on the trip back a four some on different sport bikes eased up on me, I was just putt putting at 90, I seen them come up and they gave me the sign to run with them, lol. I ran out of guts at 125, and after 4 or 5 miles of that I decided to back out of it back to my 90, my popo radar was going off and I dropped it under 80, I come around a bend and next to the retainer wall was the local flavour of popo. I look out and see the popo tearing off, he was not after me but the four some. I knew the that he had no chance in hell to getting near those boys, they where out pacing him 3 to 1. I never seen the guys again or the popo but we where coming up on Lexington to the I64 and I75 split. They went south on I75, there is an exit less than a mile and then they would be on the streets with a ton of choices to get lost on. Of course I putt putted on home
