I went for about a 100 mile ride out on the back roads yesterday.
It was sunny and 72F in WNY, there was no way I couldn't take advantage of that.
While out on the back rodes I came up on an old Kawi ZXR 750 and fell in with him for a few miles.
We stopped at a stop sign and he said "Holy Sh*t a VMax, I haven't ever actually seen one of those but I heard they are fast, ya wanna Go ?"
Of course I coulnd't resist.
We both launched hard but he wheelied a bit and I got about 3 Bike length jump on him which I held up to about 110 until I backed off, which is where he finally caught up to me.
We stayed at 110 for a minute or two and then backed off to just over the limit.
We stopped and the next stop sign and we were both grinning ear to ear.
He said "I heard those things were fast but I would never have believed it could take me, until now."
We rode together for about 30 more miles or so doing just over the limit until he had to turn off, we threw up a wave and went our separate ways.
To be honest, It wasn't beating him that made my day.
It was just the race itself that got my heart pumping, it's definitely been a few years since I had someone (not on a VMax) want to line up with me.
I just really loved the fact that I randomly ran into someone on the road that would actually push there bike that hard. :D

Sun came out so I rode mine to work today. It is soooo nice to be back on two wheels, and this '00 really does work well. Just gotta sort out the popping and it'll be awesome.

Found out that my right switch gear needs servicing, hitting the killswitch slowly brings on the fuel and oil lights but doesn't cut the motor! And the adjusting screw started falling off the adjustable brake lever from China - must remember to put some Loctite on those.. Some guy told me those adjustable levers are illegal here!

Bought a Dyna 3000 from sean and was about to buy a set of brackets for my headlight, but after seeing the cost converted... decided spending over $200 on a set of brackets was not ideal.

We have our modified lights and adding even more. Got the clear lens stuff and adding a few different types of Halo's! We are also working with one of the other forum guys to have another option too which has been popular.

Today I found the reason for my weak start

Last week I took my carb's of my bike and took them apart.
Brought the 4 boxes with part to http://sd2cx1.webring.org/l/rd?ring=vmax;id=1;url=http://www.devmaxspecialist.nl/ for ultrasoon cleaning.
Last Thursday I could pick them up and had a big puzzle to do in the evening.
Also I checked the famous 'O' ring.

And ordered directly a special oil tube bracked.

All is now installed and took the max for synchronising.

ready for some more milles....

Greetzzz

So the case fragged? Then all you need to do is swap-out for another starter?

Also by the way, I am waiting on a friend to go w/me to look at a parts bike for a fair price. I'll post some pics tomorrow if it turns-out to be worth purchasing. Some potentially-good stuff to be had, not currently-running.

Addendum: I got it, still need to examine it in the daylight. Some good parts to be had. More-complete than the initial pics I saw which didn't show any bodywork, just a rolling chassis w/an engine.

Yeah, luckily I have a spare starter in the shed - I picked it up cheap a few years ago before I found out it was the starter CLUTCH that had gone

Simple enough swap, re-assembly will be tonight :punk:

Installed my LED fleabay tail light and license plate bracket today. Looks a WORLD better then that 70's style tractor like jeepish tail light these things come with, plus saves some weight and exposes about 4" more of my Avon :punk:....

I am gonna get custom stickers that say "Super-Silver-62-triple-turbo-charged-ram-air-rotary-hybrid. And super-duper be cool! BOO-YA!! :punk:

Great looking bike dude!... but unless it is really a ram air setup, I PERSONALLY would take em off.... but thats just me....

Removed exhaust and center stand, hopefully get the center stand bracket cut and Kerker installed today.

Once again realized that working on the bike at 1 AM is always a bad idea. You'd think that by now, I would remember that my brake line goes ON TOP of the swingarm pivot, not under it. The caliper was tucked in a box under the bike when I installed the swingarm. I put the driveshaft in, the swingarm, the diff, the wheels, spacers, Put the caliper bracket into place and then when to install the brake arm and could not rotate the caliper bracket far enough back to mate the bolt. I was wondering WTF??

I took a look at the brake line and realized what I had done. So, it was decision time. Do I remove the brake line, re-route and then bleed it. Or, do I remove the wheel, pumpkin, driveshaft, swingarm, reroute the line and start over?

I did not want to do either! I decided to take a chance on leaving as much assembled as possible. I put a couple blocks of wood under the tire, removed the shocks, removed both swingarm pivot bolts and was able to pull the swingarm back a little bit and twist it enough to snake the brake line up to the top side. I didn't think it was going to work but was glad it did! Stupid mistake.

Also changed the diff oil and filled/bled the clutch line.

I'm down to installing exhaust, coolant, oil filter/oil, and putting the covers back on. I've been waiting on my neighbor to drill out a new plug for me on his lathe so I can finish up my oil pressure sender for my gauges. He made me one plug but ran the tap in too deep so there was not enough taper to seal the fitting. Shooting to be able to test ride this weekend.

Once again realized that working on the bike at 1 AM is always a bad idea.

Just remember this summer me amd SPEEDCOSTSMONEY finished at 4h30 am to install relays on it`s HID system (hi-lo and shut off)
We had some re-do-the-wire-terminal.com :biglaugh:
but everything was ok at the end:eusa_dance:

Put the faux tank back together and put back on the bike. I also put a little bit of foam around the opening in my Morley airbox. So now when the faux is on, it seals around the K&N. The louvers' openings are to the front, so I'll have some better inhalation on the bike.

I also put my decalkit.com decals on the sides of the faux tank and the front of my bellypan. I'm now loving the black on black graphics. The gloss black decals pretty much blend in with the satin paint, until a little light hits them then they pop. I can't wait to finish up and put the rest of the bike back together.

Here is a shot of the front of my bellypan and a shot of faux tank's decal.
