Finished up with the air storage. Everything mocked up and fitting nicely and the 9oz tank's black coat all stripped off and the tank brushed out. This weekend it will be finishing up on the brackets and get everything installed. :punk:

So here it is, my CO2 airshifter tank. I knew I would find some uses for some parts left over after I sold the paintball business :)

Very nice KJ, looks purposeful and trick! I can't wait to see it all mounted, and of course the feedback on performance.
It is nice to see the ingenuity and perseverance of some of our members projects taking place recently. I'm proud to be a amongst such prolific technicians and builders, add that to our already excellent, creative, and helpful vendors the rest of us members are drawn to their desirous mechanical offerings!:worthy:
The mod monkey must be smiling at the state of the forum.:punk:

I swapped in a Venture diff along with fresh diff oil, then took a 45 mile mostly highway ride. The beast lost a little of its edge but it's much happier at 75mph now.

Later, Doug

After I replaced my Carrozerrias with stock wheels and rotors, I noticed the brakes were dragging. After a little diagnosing discovered it was the right front caliper. Took it apart, cleaned it, lubed the seals, wow what a difference!! Absolutely zero brake drag!!! I liked it so much, ended up doing the other two calipers. Funny thing, they looked brand new on the inside.

Washed both bikes, took the Vmax for some fresh gas. On the way back, I hear someone a few cars lengths back revving their motor and making alot of racket. So, I keep a slow pace, so I can see what was going on. Well it was a Ducati Diavel that wanted a piece of me. I just let him go by...I'm not quite ready to take on the big boys yet. :(

Thanks Brian!

While working on some school work, I glanced over at my air tank. I noticed, I done plumbed the Jackhammer regulator wrong. So I fixed it. :)

How do you tell if they're dragging? Feel or sound?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4
I could tell by feel. When your pushing the bike around and the front end felt heavy at stops. Put it on the centerstand, jack up the front tire and give it a spin. It should rotate pretty freely. Check the rear. As an added bonus, I finally got all the air out of the lines so my lever travel is the same every pull. It wasn't bad before, just better now.

Good for you, know your limits. And, it sounds like it was in heavy traffic anyway. Too-much possibility for something to happen like someone making a multiple lane change or pulling-out from a side street. The Ducati is probably faster than a stock Gen I anyway, but it all comes-down to operator proficiency.

Went out for a ride about 4 this morning. It was nice and peaceful having the roads to myself.
It's been a while since it got dark at night, I forgot about the "Jolly Rodger" that appears on the roadway in front of my bike :)

Took a couple of pictures at a couple of places where I stopped.

Selling the bike. Put stock wheels on and that lets you sell the bike at a lower price which is easier to sell.

Yup, heavy traffic, and I still am getting used to my new toy. The smart thing to do was let him go. In the right place right time on my Bandit, I would have give it a go to see what that Ducati had. I can ride my other bike. I think that Ducati is more of a Gen2 match up though, at least not my Cobra piped stocker...

Sell those Cobra pipes to someone who is more-into looks than power, and then get a UFO 4/1 Dragstar, and a pair of good earplugs to use when you're riding. Sean's Muscle Kit or a Dynojet Stage 7, or a Factory Pro setup for the carbs, and by all accounts, you should be able to make about 120 RWHP. Radials will let you use the power and minimize the handling issues that stock VMaxes seem to display. All you need for that is a new/used 5.5" X 17" or 18" rear wheel, try Kosman, and a pair of correctly-sized radial tires, the stock front wheel can take a 110 X 18" though the wheel width isn't optimal for the tire. No, it won't make your VMax into a GSXR or an R1, but you will have more fun than on a stocker 'Max. And when your clutch starts to show symptoms of your heavy throttle hand, order the OEM Yamaha friction discs and the 'extra-plate' kit from PCW, along with their heavy-duty diaphragm spring. It's easier on your hand than the 'double-disc' twin-stock-diaphragm springs, which will make you regret the day you installed it when you get caught in stop & go traffic.

That should give you more of a chance to stay with the Diavel, even if there are some curves in the contest.

Thanks for the great info. Yeah, the cobras will be leaving soon. I bought the bike for more 2up comfort (I have a muscleseat in process). So I am not tring to dump a buttload of money into performance upgrades. But we all know how it goes. My Bandit is no R1 or Gixxer killer, but with the Yosh/Dale Walker set up, it puts out about 120hp and is lighter and more nimble.
I'm thinking Supertrapps now and maybe the wheel mod later. As long as I can stay infront of Hardleys I'm good

Add a new front grill cover to my vmax, and wifie to my surprise bought me some sunpro gauges for the bike.

The grill cover is well made not a mark on it. Very well pack when I open the box.

I bought the grill from this company below.
