I should hope not, what with her being big enough to manhandle you into whatever she needs you to do.

Took the chapter to Regency Suspension Bridge which has been on my list for a couple years.

Found a couple more bros with great taste in rides outa the OK/KS Chapters. Sean should recognize the faired Max.

And rode safely home between the rain drops today.

I like them fairings... Want more pics of them

Looks like I have this one from 2 angles. It is a Harley batwing. Notice that he has also updated to 7" HID headlight to fill the fairing.

The owner is a forum member. I'll let him know there is some interest and see if he can pop in and share more. He did the custom airbrush himself.

The flat black fairing (mine) is easy to duplicate. It is a Fatmax fairing. Mounts quickly and easily and it performs well too.

Not bad. Set that Max up with Venture heads, cams, no Vboost, Venture running gears, an extended swingarm to make room for an extended tank, and hard bags and a trunk, and you would have one hell of a touring machine I think.

I am VERY tempted to go that route with my Max.

I wonder what kind of range would be possible with such mods?

If you want to go that route, might as well save you some money & just get a venture

While performing the shotgun on my max, I accidentally shoved one of the small o rings to the a/f mixture screw down inside the orifice. Soooo, after removing the carbs and working for an hour and finally getting the old o ring out, I decided to install some new mains, 147.5s and shim the needle up. Put it all back together and synced the carbs. Can't wait to take it to work tomorrow to see how that, along with installing the open end caps on my supertrapps, the sound is much more aggressive as the ride will be as well. I also got the tabs to my frame braces welded on and installed the frame braces. Next will be new motor mounts and then hopefully, that damn mod monkey will get a flight back to the states. This S&H!t is getting expensive.:worthy:

With a Venture drive, and 6 liter aux. tank, I go about 325 km. before the warning light. Engine is completely stock. I never cruise above 6k on the highway, consequently Vboost is not a factor.
I think the most affordable route to take if you wanted to make a dual purpose Max would be http://fatmax.com and http://tourtank.com The bodywork and tanks appear to be well made, and easily removable. http://cycle-istic.com makes a dandy rear rack. I could envision the tourtank being mounted on this, maybe even as part of a hard or soft luggage bag, so the tank itself would not be visible.
Lots of options. You are only limited by your imagination. The Mod Monkey is an equal-opportunity leech. He will suck money from anyone, regardless of what they are buying for their bike.
Cheers!

Hoot.

I'm, well ... part way there. I do have a 3 gal auxiliary tank which was not mounted for this trip (needed the six pack rack to hold 3 days worth of gear for two). But, when installed ... I'm good for 180+ miles before fuel light.

I still haven't picked out my bags, but really looking forward to see'n some Fatmax hard bags in person.

From your list ... I have stage 7 carbs w/o boost, but I have butterflies and servo awaiting install. I'm not going to do a top box 'cause I like the 3 gal aux tank more.

Any pics of that aux tank? Would love to see the set-up!

Look at tourtank.com and in his galleries. Tourtank will make you a cover for the tank, but I think he got his made somewhere else. It bolts to the www.cycle-istic.com backrest.

On another note.... I WON THE BATTLE WITH MY HINDLE!!!! Riding instead of working here we come!

I do NOT want a Venture. One of the big reasons is overall mass of the bike. In the end, the Max would still be lighter. That is a + for me. Also, I am much more comfortable with the sitting position on the Max than I am on a Venture. another + for me with a Max. Lastly, I just want the Max over the Venture. The Venture does nothing for me while a V-Max stirs my soul like the Angels are singing on my doorstep.

I Have found some really nice hardbags and a trunk I would consider, and I think it might have been on the FatMax site even. (not certain)

As far as auxillary fuel tanks goes, I have seen one that mounts as an expanded airbox cover. Maybe I could contact the company that makes that, and see if they can make something there that will hold about 2 gallons. How big of an expanded fuel tank can I expect to be able to do if I get an extended swingarm? Relocating the battery is an option to further help with room even.

Our extended tanks add's one gallon (for a total of 5). I haven't done one yet that goes into the battery box area but I suppose we could do that.

Manually changed over the rear tire.. gonna take the front to dealer.. too frackin hard to save $20 lol.. I like the looknof the 180 over the 200 tho.. uploadfromtaptalk1401146381839.jpg
