Well, as perfect as the headlamp I got from Sean is, it was not designed for the V-Max, so mounting it proved to not be a simple bolt-on job. The original bracket that came with the headlight had this piece that came up over the top of the headlight bucket to bolt to the top clamp of the bike it came from. Don't work that way for
Woona, instead, it was hitting that piece under the speedo that the stock turn signals bolt to. Well... ****.
That was cut off first thing.
Bolt up the headlamp, and I start to wonder if it might be a V-Max part in disguise. The mounting seems as flexible as a V-Max frame and suspension. Mr. Slinky would be proud. Yeah... let's fix this ****. Those two allen head bolts (same ones that hold the
T for the front brakes) ain't gonna cut it.
So, I made these brackets up. They look rough as hell, but if they get the job done...
Remember that cover... the one with the holes for the turn signals?
Time to put them to use.
And soon, it is all complete. Solid as a rock, and now I have mounting points for the bracketry for the CB I will be installing.
Progress is being made. I am pleased.
