Looks sweet. Is that stock dark amethyst color? (Doubt i spelled that correctly)

It is not the stock color it has a bit more purple to it than the blue the original amethyst had. I am probably gonna ask 3k for it and go from there.
Took apart the holley carb, put in new jets, needle, power valve and metering plate on recommendation of a supercharger specialist. But realized there was no base gasket installed previously. Anyway, tried to run as is and ran crappy. So ordered and installed the base gasket and started right up. Just need to adjust the curb idle and hope the float bowls are close. And go for a fast ride.

Radial tire capable wheels, & other good stuff; 4/1, R1 brakes, cyl head leg guards. A good bike for someone, Kyle. That should put-down a longer burnout rubber strip than your LUV pick-up! How's that coming? Any recent pics?

Yeah it has all kinds of goodies as normal it is all being sold off. I sold the wheels today. I have not really had the cash to do much to the Luv. Hopefully between the parts off this bike & when I sell my 85 I can finish up my 383. As for right now I am just driving it as is. Here is the last picture I have of it. I am hoping I can paint it before the road run in April.

this is the front plate, because the rear plate is already mounted on the bike, but the idea is pretty much the same.
any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
what I've done/used :
Denso p/n 129700-4400 Coil on plug .
Renewed the original vmax plug rubber with some sandpaper and vaseline to soften them.
Installed the original rubber over the denso COP for a tight fit.
Using a small drill I've also enlarged the original rubber sleeve for the rear plug.
The result is pretty satisfying. Cop doesn't move at all!
New wires are high-temp silicon coated ( AWG 14, so pretty big for the task, but I like to be sure)
on top of that I used a high-temp red fiberglass coating sleeve that insulate the cables from heat and electrical noise.
Removed the original coil, and cut 4 pieces of pure copper to be used as a plate for the 1,5Ohm resistance ( I use a dyna 3000 d3k7 6 instead of the original ignition module)
Unfortunately I had to use the wire resistance due to price , size and ease of installation, but if I didn't read wrong there are not so much difference for this mod.
Resistance is attached to the copper plate , leaving enough room to avoid overheating to the cables.
I thought that in this way the 1,5ohm resistance shoulfd work better and dissipate the heat on the copper plate.
I really don't like the idea of having something too heat on cables.
Finally I used new waterproof connectors for COP , but I preferred to use the original vmax connectors for installation.
This should help me to avoid troubels if I have to remove them.
Checked primary and secondary resistance and everything is good .
I have 2.9Ohm for 3 COP and 2.8 for 1 cop.
the issue is related to COP and noty wires, so maybe in the near future I will purchase another set of COP just to be sure, but I think that this minimal difference should not be an issue for performance
The last thing I have to do is to cut the excess from the screws that hold the resistance in place, but all in all I think that I can live with that.

today i pulled off the carbs ,intakes and crank case breather box .the o rings where leaking oil..i discovered the rubber boots where cracked and carbs had small leak coming from float bowl..and intake rubbers where split ..should run better after i replace all that stuff.:bang head:
I took and uploaded some pictures of my 1996 V-Max today. It's all stock (besides the holes in the exhaust) to my understanding, and only had 4,000 miles on it when I purchased it last summer. As you can see it has been garage kept, and barely ridden.
I wont be able to really get into building her until this fall, after I get settled in Tucson. Right now my plans are to go with a 4 into 1 exhaust paired to an IXIL L3XB dual hyperflow, in order to keep it black and have removable decibel killers (if that will work??). Suggestions for both 4 into 1 headers and dual hyperflow mufflers are greatly appreciated!
As far as I can see from this and every V-Max forum, the Morleys Muscle jet kit is the way to go for maximizing power once the exhaust is opened. So that is most likely the direction I will go in unless someone suggests something better!
New tires also because the current shoes are 8 years old... I was thinking some Dunlops with white lettering but I will be looking at a lot of the bikes on here to see what looks good. Whatever rubber I go with will need to be able to withstand the heat of Arizona summer.
Also for summer, I am thinking about purchasing the temperature switch that is modified to turn the fan on when the engine reaches a cooler temperature than the stock thermostat. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with this modification? Is there a thermostat switch that variably controls fan speed?
I'm excited to hear what suggestions everyone has, and even more excited to get started on this project! Thanks in advance for the advice!

I put my swing arm on with my busa wheel, made a solid shock replacement for time being till new ones come in. Removed the stems from both triples, readying for the swap. Removed old exhaust readying for the voodoo that will be in Wednesday. Very excited for this season. Will post up better pics after the pipes are on. Don’t like the color choice of wheels, so those will be re sprayed soon.

Not all today but have been working on someone else's bike. I pulled the engine and painted it and painted the swingarm and differential & rotor. I also polished the wheel up some. I still need to polish the front wheel and paint the rotors when I am done with the rest.

Nice. Do you mask the bare aluminum details on the heads/block/cover or, do you psint everything and sand/polish those areas afterwards?

I have my like new used headers from Sean installed (brand new condition at junk yard price :clapping
and my new Delkevic 14" carbon fiber cans installed. I painted the front pipe clamps with high temp primer and cast steel color high temp paint and they match the bike great. sounds awesome! and looks way cool
