Just out of interest, how do you clean the K&N? Just compressed air from the inside?

Theres a little washing kit you can get. http://www.proformanceusa.com/mall/dbknGOOGLE.asp?fpdbr_0_PagingMove=++%7C%3C++&MODEL=99-5050

You just spray the cleaner on the filter, saturate the puppy on both sides. But don't let it dry. then rinse it off under the tap with low pressure and then when it dries, hit it with a fine mist of the oil.

I run K&N's in all my stuff cause in the long run I can clean the explorer, the dodge and the Vmax for $20, can't replace 1 filter for that price.

I bought a starter clutch assembly, gaskets and the three bolts from Motosports Warehouse. There cost price total was $124.30. There list price was $166.17. These prices are without shipping. It sounds like your getting a good deal.:punk:

Got my solid motor mounts installed using the procedure on the VMax Outlaw site.

What a colossal pain in the ass it was to get the left rear mount in and out.
I ended up filing about 1/16" off of one side of the left rear mount to get it to clear the tab on the frame.
My U-Joint was pressed up against the crossbar on the frame and the gas tank.
To get that last 1/16" would have meant taking out the gas tank and removing the U-Joint. A couple minutes of file work and it slid right in.

By right in, I mean forcing the motor up with a 3 foot prybar, beating on the mount with a deadblow hammer and a bit of swearing thrown in for good measure.

I still need to reinstall the swingarm but will probably wait until I finish changing all of the brake lines over to the SS galfers.

Glad you were able to those MM in place 98. My engine is completely out of the frame so I shouldn't have much trouble. Nice list of mods you have going this year, when your mod monkey reports in he'll be moving up the mod tree for sure. EMBRACE the MONKEY!
See Gannon, it took just a bit of twister and a little stratego for a smooth operation. You have passed go collect $200! No yatzee cup needed!:biglaugh:

yes, i ran into the same things. eventually we took off the front left bolt so we could move the engine a bit more forward and then up as it kept hitting the upper frame crossbar behind the radiator.

major pain in the ass. took 3-4 guys a leisurely 6 hours. swingarm n **** was already off and didn't go back on.
