Had to replace the stater cluch and gear, got all buttoned back together.
Discovered Indian head schellac today, great stuff for assembly on the gaskets

Brought 'em out!! Spring has sprung! Ian talked me into getting the Max woke up. Cranked right over, fired up but ran like crap for a few miles - as usual.. So Ian said he'd "take it to the gas station" fo put in some good gas.. Right. He was gone over an hour, and 40 miles later, showed up with this BIG grin, saying "The boost works, Dad..." After all the problems with fuel leaking as soon as it fired up last year, and the famous mouse nest in the airbox - I'm glad to say, no mice, no leaks! Isn't Thunder coming up soon??

86 miles two-up today before fuel light ... get'n better. Also tested newly installed stereo - luv it. Ordered Michelin Challenger IIs for front & rear. Ordered Fatmax Batwing. Picked up the 2" ID fuel hose to move the fuel fill inlet up directly under the Corbin Flap. Fixed the left mirror so I can actually see behind me on both sides while riding.

Tires won't be here till Monday so these rocks will make a trip to LA this weekend. I'm hoping I get the battery replaced and the Fatmax installed by Thursday 'cause I'd really like both done for Lola's Run to da Bayou Friday morning.

Added fork gators today.

In no particular order........

Drilled out my carb cover screws.....10 minute job just didn't expect them to be so tenacious!

Seat off and destined for ebay.

Rear wheel off and destined for ebay.

Removed rear shocks and placed into bin.

Removed and painted swingarm and diff.

Wiring solder mod.

Started rubbing back engine block in preparation for paint/powder.

Pulled both 43mm forks apart to get one slider re-chromed. Will be at minimum re-springing them before install (when I find some triple clamps).

Rear fender off and placed it beside the bin.

Front brake calipers inc master off and in the bin.

Battery out and on tender.

Airbox off.

Bars off and in the bin.

Coffee time.....

Finished last night. OH almost finished. UFO 4-1 Drag( very loud, my wife is pissed). Solid motor mounts were installed during exhaust. I also had to disassemble my rear brake caliber, one of the bleeder was rusted up( now cleaned with torch tip cleaner and emery cloth. Re-bleed my front and rear brakes last night. And not sure if Jet kit or New Starter clutch is next. Pissed I didn't pull it apart prior to filling it with oil and running it. Just had to hear exhaust.... Should have my seat from Sean very soon. Oh I plan on breaking in new back tire tonight or tommorrow in my driveway.

1. Took the fuel pump off and checked it as I cannot hear it cycle when I turn the key switch. It is functioning and pumping but the diaphragm is worn out and I think it is not allowing full movement which gives the click.

2. Didn´t have power going to the rear running light. Checked the blue wire that runs from the rear to the front inside the headlight. Took apart the key switch to check for power going to the blue wire which supplies power to the rear taillight. I cleaned up the contacts and it is now working. I also found excessive play in the key switch which cause the bike to lose electrical power occasionally.

If anyone has a good working fuel pump and key switch, let me know.

Wired up a radiator fan switch. Installed her new mobility cart battery (it's an AGM upgrade to the Panasonic battery and it's working well). Borrowed a rear wheel & tire to hold me over till my new Michelin Commander 2s arrive tomorrow (monday). Confirmed that the diaphram in the #1 carb is toast. Patched diaphram with a bicycle tire patch and blew out the idle circuit for #1 with carb cleaner. Put it all back together and took off leading a 5 bike pack (1 Vmax, 1 Stratoliner and assorted Harleys) east to Jennings, LA for a little fun with a few hundred of my best friends. All told she gobbled up over 300 miles of highway traveling 2-up. She gave me 30mpg or a little better for the trip - best was 34 at a steady clip of 80-85mph.

Her cherry is broke and I'm even deeper in love. New Fatmax batwing fairing and new shoes arrive tomorrow. Forecast for Tuesday is sunny and warm ... I'll be pointing towards an old wooden suspension bridge that resides in Central TX. Hopefully I remember to charge up the camera batteries.

Not all today but over the last few weeks I've installed a new headlight totally converted to LED projectors, got rid of the terrible cobra exhaust and installed supertrapp slipons, and today I installed the fan override switch.

Pics of the headlight from the front and coverage from the driver's seat at night, please. I'm way interested in this.

K, so ...

1. Had Mich Commander II installed on rear.
2. Discovered that I ordered a 19" for the front - doh; front rock reinstalled; correct size ordered :bang head:.
3. Cleaned up fork lowers and both wheels before rattling it all flat black :biglaugh:.
4. Installed Fatmax Batwing - :eusa_dance:. It looks good, but I think I'll want more screen. I'll decide on my way to my lady's later tonight.
5. Had shop order front brake master kit since boats.net doesn't like my computer.
