Working on putting in a new battery, K&N air filter with one of Sean's filter holders/brackets, tracing some jacked wiring from PO and doing a full detail and ceramic coating the bike.

On the 'to-do' list are some Sato Racing frame and engine sliders with all Ti hardware, a Speedohealer, Mike Kemp's air scoop halos/signals, LED headlight and running light bulbs, some new Vesrah brake pads front and rear, Driven Racing carbon fiber 'Superbike' bend bars, Rizoma Sport grips, Oberon bar end mirrors, a color-matched Magical Racing rear seat cover, Spiegler stainless steel brake and clutch lines, new Shinko sneakers front and rear and working on some chrome goodies. Winter's here, so plenty of garage time for the bikes.

Sean's air filter bracket, powdercoated a black (Cardinal BK-120) that matches the frame (the small marks on the bracket are oil from handling the filter and wiped off) and a titanium bolt because, well, why not. 🤣

And the B-King will get a little love in the form of new plugs and a Samco silicone radiator hose and clamp kit.

Well i swore I was not going to share this bike until i was finished with it. I buffed all the paint today and coukd not resist putting the scoops and faux cover on for a few pictures. It is a color shift paint so pictures do not do it justice.

Such a pretty bike.

I recall when PPG developed the Mystic Chrome paint for the 1996 and the 2004 Mustangs. This article says there were two separate formulations, with similar results. Here's some info on it.

https://www.modularfords.com/threads/mystic-chrome-paint.16586/

From the link, above:
The two paints are actually two completely different formulas. The 1996 formula is paint code LF. The PPG paint code is 5104. PPG, Dupont, House of Kolors, etc. can NOT get this paint formula. This paint is available only through a Ford Dealership. Even then, you will have to provide proof of ownership of a 1996 Mystic Cobra and proof of damage. Then they will provide you with just enough paint to repair the damaged area.

The 2004 Mystic Cobra paint on the other hand, is still available. The paint code for this is G6, or PPG Paint Code 903070. This can be mixed by almost any body shop who mixes their own paint. Thiel's Collision Center, Inc. is one of these shops. If you are interested in this paint, send me a PM and I will provide the price for ModularFord members.

[end]
Read the other posts for some interesting claims about the paint, and what happened to it if there was any left-over. The paint is $$$$.
