Changed my handlebars from stock to Sean's superbike bars.
Has anyone else that's done this noticed that the center of the handlebars and the clamp don't seem like they match together very well? I was able to tighten down the top 2 allen bolts on the clamp just fine, but the bottom 2 bolts(along with the bottom half of the whole clamp itself) won't tighten and suck up to the risers. I'm afraid to force it at all....don't wanna break something.

Yes Mine are the same way. The bars aren't quite straight enough for the length of the clamp. The first bend starts inside the clamp is what I'm trying to say.
But it's a clamp so it works fine.
I made sure the top of the clamp just touches the bottom riser and then tightened up the bottom, because you can't see the bottom gap anyway.
I used a small mark on the center of the bar and the center of the lower riser to make sure I got it positioned exactly center.
I love the super bike bar!!!
But I'm going to take a 1/2 inch off each end when I finally settle on what grips and bar ends I want.
Then the bar will be perfect for my shoulder width.

Ok, I'm not crazy then. That's exactly what I did.
Now it's on to bleeding the clutch lines....and maybe the brake lines if I get the urge.

checked my carb synch today at 750 miles.

#1 carb was a tad off....#4 was off qwite a bit.

not any more...:rofl_200::punk:

Replaced the clutch fluid in my lines....and HOLY **** I didn't realize how bad it needed to be done!!!! The fluid in the lines was almost black....and there were little black floaties in the m/c also. My brakes need to be done as well, because they are the same color. Let's hope it solves my clutch slippage problem!

picked up a pair of side panels off fleabay, was going to strip and paint them but were in such good shape after stripping them I polished them...turned out better than I thought they would. Also cleaned and taped off everything really well and shot a nice coating of paint on it.It was the biggest eyesore on the bike since I got it.

Pulled the old stock grips off put in the barsnake then went to put the new grips on and what do you know i took them out of the box and they sent me 1 inch instead of 7/8 . I put the right one on and will see if i can get a cheap trottle sleeve for the bar tomorrow to put inside the grip .

they are kerkers, the chrome was peeling off real bad so I sanded and painted them.cheaper than buying new plus they sound great.

Got the call today from my friend bill warner that my pcv and autotune are in the mail 2morrow,a few extra ponnies are coming my way.:biglaugh:

Got my regulator out and I`m going to do the wire splice and try to figure oout where to put the other one.
I hope that cures my problem when I finally get it back together again but I also have a weak spark to the plugs.:bang head:
We`ll just wait and see what happens this time.:confused2:

Dave I thought you were coming over to get the R1 reg I got for you???? Do you still need it, let me know

On my side of the world
Drained the oil
Drained the coolant
Drained the carbs.
Removed the rear tire
removed the swing arm and diff
removed the air box
removed the carbs.

All in preparation to remove the engine to split the case and replace the tranny :bang head::bang head::bang head:
