I would never mix radial and Bias, something we could all probably agree on.....
I've mixed brands and tread patterns for years, no big deal at all, I'm running an Avon Sport touring tire on the front and an Avon "powercruiser" tire on back currently, but definetly different classes of tires even tho' the same brand...If you run an 18" radial out back your going to have a very difficult time finding a comparable front tire, and I felt having a stickier sport touring tire in front was way more important than trying to match the front to the back.
If I had it to do over again I would have gone with a 17 front and back instead of the 18"s, way better tire selection, you can't even find a true "sport tire" for the rear in 18"
