What is the part number for the bolts that attach the OEM backrest?

There are four bolts that attach the OEM backrest to the bike. I've lost one of them. I'm able to find parts fiches for all of the OEM parts for the Vmax as it was delivered from the factory, and I can find the entire backrest kit for sale, but I can't find part numbers for individual items in the backrest kit. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

While I'm at it, I also need to remember to order myself a radiator bolt and washer.

Probably stainless steel, button head cap screw, metric (check diameter and length in mm) and look it up on eBay.

Bingo...don't know if you'll find a Yamaha part number for just the screws but any 'standard' screw with the right length and thread diameter and pitch should work.

Don't know if you have any decent hardware stores by you but I know that the Ace Hardware near me has a fairly comprehensive selection of metric fasteners.

Me personally, I'd go with Amazon M80x80mm, they are longer, but it doesn't matter. There is enough room inside and in case you screw the thread in the frame and don't want to helicoil it, just put a flanged nut or anything else from the inside on it.

I'm following a different approach. My bolts come from the inside, through the backrest mounts and coupling hex nuts on the outside.
Then I have universal Saddlebag Support Brackets mounted. Using flanged button head bolts from the outside, so no additional washer.





P.S.: I love coupling hex nuts, I have a RAM Mount sitting on my (central) handlebar mount.... can show and explain as well

Thanks for the link. The bolt is right around 2.5", which is just over 60mm, so I ordered the 60mm bolts.

Yours should be ok, me personally, I'd go with the exact length, you don't want to end up with a screw which is slightly too short, but this is me.
65mm was the exact length, I'm used to the Metric system

Good call. I cancelled the 60mm screws and ordered the 65s.

Btw, I damaged a thread, had to helicol it, otherwise would have used longer ones and a nut from inside.
I'm using longer ones, but from the inside to the outside, through the backrest mount. Then coupling nuts where I attached a saddlebag bracket. Picture above.

I believe, I saw them once and this was the inspiration. I don't have the possibility to have such things fabricated, so 3D printing had to be enough and for me, it was ok. Your plates are really neat and make me drool.
