After a 4-2-1 Kerker & stage 7 (or 3) jet kit...what makes this '85 have more schwoop?

What works & what doesn't?

RR

For stock engine:
one of our muscle jet kits (no such thing as stage 3)
flatslide carbs (though we out HP them with our kit sometimes)
Nitrous (don't get too greedy with the power hit)

Then you can lighten the bike or rider

After that you have to go internal which the easiest thing is one of our 1300 conversion kits.
Of course we can go a lot bigger too (I have one 1500 I am wanting to sell). These engine options are not what many would consider cheap.

Less weight... Nitrous?

Other than on myself where is there places to lose a few on the bike?

Shift light next, then Dyna ignition in curve # 4.

Dyna? Is there a Noticable difference on this bike? The last one I had on a 1400cc intruder made it run worse even after extensive Dyna Rep' time. Very disapointing. They worked great years ago on older sportbikes.

Thanks Sean, This has the Pod filters on each carb. I'm sorry, I always knew them as a stage 3. The guy I bought it ffrom kept calling it a stage 7 which had me confused.

Why is it called a stage 7?

The individual filters are part of the dynojet stage seven (named that by dynojet). Not sure why they called it that 20+ years ago.

From dynojet site:

Stage 3:
Intended for motorcycles with stock or mildly tuned engines using a well designed aftermarket pipe and individual air filters. In most cases power increases of 10-15% can be achieved. However driveability may be compromised particularly with short stroke, high rpm motors. On some modern engine and airbox designs, individual filters and proper jetting offer no performance improvement yet compromise driveability, in such cases stage 3 kits are not available.

Satge 7:
Intended for race only use or for special applications, like the Yamaha V Max complete induction kit. Stage 7 kits are designed to optimize jetting for a given tuning specification or racing conditions.
