alternator cover ?

hi, I pulled the alternator cover off, and what looks like an oil slinger fell out. it looks like a large thin washer with a small collar around the hole. can't find it in the manual. anyone know where it goes, and what direction it faces? thanks in advance.

sounds like the flat washer that sits under the alternator insert. did u take the whole cover off or just the insert. if memory serves me it goes on the crankshaft with the collar side out.
